How does a athlete rich school like GRC have 12 straight loses? If a former D1 coach can't recruit players within his own school, I wonder if he was any good in college.

It's been my experience in meeting quite a few D1 coaches, that about half of them are little more than average high school-level coaches in terms of knowledge and ability. There is the better half as well, but 1 in 2, in my experience, have been far from what I would have expected.

I didn't realize Boone had lost 20 straight games. Also kind of surprised to see GRC with 12 straight losses.

Bracken County lost 31 straight between 07-10. Began the 2007 season with a win, then lost the next 9.

 

Scary thing- the opening win stopped a 26 game skid.

I know I've said it 284x times on this site, but Boone football slipping to where it has is just unbelievable to me. The Boone I grew up around, the Owen Hauck Rebels, the Craig Mullins Rebels, the Kyle Niederman Rebels, the Tony Law Rebels, the Shaun Alexander Rebels, Timmy King, so on and so on...just unbelievable to me that this is where we are today. I genuinely miss Boone County being good. Big crowds out on 18 on Friday nights, a great band at halftime, a hard hitting and good game, the lid-lifter each year with the Colonels in searing heat..."...I miss back when..."

 

Yea I was discussing this with someone the other day. They really should go ahead and rename the school to Florence high school. Ryle and Cooper have really drained Boones talent pool.

I hear things are looking up in Brooksville. A home playoff game means beating at least 2 of these 3- Paris (A), Brossart(A), and Nicholas (H). That's a pretty big task.
