We have one thread examining winning streaks so we also have to take a look at losing streaks. Since 210 Kentucky teams ended their 2015 season with a loss, we are only looking at the ten longest losing streaks entering the 2016 season. Last year saw several teams break long losing streaks; who on this list will finally put a mark in the win column?

1. Logan County - 33 straight losses

2. Phelps - 24 (1 tie in 2014 season)

3. Boone County - 20

4. Fulton County - 18

5. Shawnee - 16

6. Berea - 14

7. Seneca - 14

8. Trimble County - 14

9. Russell County - 13

10. George Rogers Clark - 12

I am pulling for all these guys, but most for Logan County. I think they have 1 real shot vs Hopkins County Central later in the season. Best of luck to all these guys!

I think Phelps will break out of this streak this season. There is a ton of excitement around this program right now. David Jones has really breathed new life into Hornet football and is changing the mindset in Phelps.

I didn't realize Boone had lost 20 straight games.

Me neither, but I guess I should have.

I know I've said it 284x times on this site, but Boone football slipping to where it has is just unbelievable to me. The Boone I grew up around, the Owen Hauck Rebels, the Craig Mullins Rebels, the Kyle Niederman Rebels, the Tony Law Rebels, the Shaun Alexander Rebels, Timmy King, so on and so on...just unbelievable to me that this is where we are today. I genuinely miss Boone County being good. Big crowds out on 18 on Friday nights, a great band at halftime, a hard hitting and good game, the lid-lifter each year with the Colonels in searing heat..."...I miss back when..."

True. And while I'm not typically a fan of dropping out of district play, I think Phelps made a smart move. Their schedule is much more conducive to success this year, which will help continue the excitement.

As a Conner alum I'm hoping for Boone's streak to reach 21.

THEN I hope it ends. No team should lose that many in a row.

That Logan County vs. Hopkins Central game will be a big one for Logan.. they lost12-13 last year.

On paper it looks like Logan County has a little more back than Hopkins

I, too, feel Phelps gets over the hump under Jones. In fact I am going to say they win 3 games.

All but 6 teams have at least a one game losing streak.

False. Five teams won their last regular season game but missed the playoffs last year. Eleven teams enter this season with a "win streak." There's also a thread on it!

A question and an observation.

1. Does anyone know the

longest losing streak in

the history of Kentucky

high school football?

2. An another chance for Logan

County to end its streak if

they lose to Hopkins Central

would be in the season finale

against Todd Central.

We've had this discussion before so somebody might have the thread, but I believe Casey County lost 46 straight games in the 1990s. A quick glance at standings shows they were 0-9 in 1994, 0-10 in 1995, 0-10 in 1996, 0-10 in 1997, and then 1-9 in 1998. The win in 1998 was after six losses to start the season. That makes 45 games, and I'm pretty sure the last game of the 1993 season (when they went 4-6) was a loss, which makes 46.

I remember they beat Christian Academy-Louisville to break the streak and there was a great deal of excitement around the community and area. The next year they went 4-5, followed by 6-4, 2-8, and 7-3 seasons, which showed that success was possible in Liberty. Here's hoping the same happens for all the schools on this list.

Mentsch, I was just about to post a similar response. It's just a shame what has happened to that once powerhouse program. I'm rooting for them to get back to some resemblance of the past, it would just make NKY football better as a whole.
