CNN article on the Ark

Agreed' date=' the city and county leaders have done nothing to bring in other business or help the current ones for that matter. In fact they didnt even start to get funding for road improvements around the ARK until this APRIL. They have had 4 years to do something. Not sure where they expected these people coming to the ARK to go when they got done.[/quote']

I meant we can't be surprised at Ark attendance. Initial interest is gone.

It is very disappointing that those that could have done something with this, and made good changes in the city and county choose to do nothing. A wasted opportunity.

Just one time I want someone to say "They're putting in an Applebee's on Barnes Rd," and not be lying to my face.

If your going to hope you can do better. Applebee's sucks

Yep. It's a crime that much money was wasted on this.

What is that line now, 15 plus years old? Have you seen the Outback too? Can we still blame in on the county being dry?

No public dollars were used for the ARK, all private funding.

I know. What could a charity have done with $100M? Instead of putting it into a sinking ship, maybe Hamm should have done something useful with it.

So someone investing money into a business is an issue for you?

Right, that's what I said.

You said you would have rather him just give his money away than put it into the ARK, which is a business venture.

But that would have been logical.

Not sure the comment is on here or I saw it on facebook, but some are still blaming the ARK for the counties demise in not being able to fund their budget.

Its the ARK's fault that there is no where else to shop and eat when people come visit the ARK, please.

Where do you see that? It's not in the article you linked.

After the core audience from Kentucky and surrounding states toured the Ark it was inevitable that the interest would fade. I mean, it's not like Kings Island where rides and entertainment keep the same people returning again and again. I haven't seen the Ark or the museum but I would think that one viewing would be about all anyone would be interested in attending.

You mean there's no dinosaur rides?
