June 25, 201610 yr Regarding the OP, we could outlaw "mass." No, not the principle worship service of Roman Catholics but the ability to gather in numbers large enough to call the crowd a mass. If it were illegal to gather in large numbers we could not have a mass shooting. Thus we prevent the problem while preserving our second amendment rights.

June 26, 201610 yr While trampling on First Amendment freedom of assembly rights. Right. No constitutional right should be trampled, yet....
June 26, 201610 yr Right. No constitutional right should be trampled, yet.... Look, don't play that game with me. I've owned a gun for a long time and have lots of reservations about trampling on the 2nd Amendment. I'm just pointing out how willing some people are to trade one for the other. It's a two-way street.

June 26, 201610 yr While trampling on First Amendment freedom of assembly rights. :thumb: Yes, Jim, you got my point. I was speaking tongue in cheek but pointing out that many solutions being proposed will come at the cost of loss of liberty. My proposal was silly, save our second amendment rights while losing our first amendment rights. Well, this is how I feel about many of the proposals being made that "trample" due process and our 2nd amendment rights. Solve one problem and create a far worse one in the process.
June 26, 201610 yr I can't get over how many of you are OK with the US being a Police State. My point exactly.
