June 17, 201610 yr So in the last 2 weeks I have notice two billboards popping up while I make my daily drive in and around the Maysville area. I kept forgetting, but today, I pulled over and took a picture of one of them and want to see if anyone has any information. I was under the impression that the Zika virus was a concentrated issue in Central / South America, but that it was not a health crisis issue in Kentucky. Am I completely missing something ? I find it interesting that the Buffalo Trace Health District is promoting protective issues for Zika in Mason and Robertson counties. I'm putting out the Bat Signal to @mcpapa to see if he knows anything about this....
June 17, 201610 yr Have not seen anything like this. But will say that I shall be diligent and heed the advice. We have no standing water. I do love walking in the woods a few times a week, so will be cautious. Thanks! :thumb:

Folks are saying the type of mosquitos found in KYbare capable of carrying the Zika virus. To my knowledge they haven't had any cases of Zika here in Ky but they are getting awareness out showing us ways to prevent it from becoming an issue here in America. The southern states are at the most risk but it is only a minimal to moderate risk at this point.

Don't forget to protect these areas with repellents. also bite around the head, neck, and arms.
