American vs Citizen of the United States

Featured Replies

I never said this Clyde, I just showed a video that shows what Islam teaches and what some followers are saying and saying this is not coming from Radical Islamist people. I have read the Quran( not all but alot) and have said and posted many times what does not line up with our American ways or laws for that matter. Before you try to argue a point at least know what the book someone follows says and commands to do, whether that be the Quran or the Bible. There is alot more there than a verse here and there.

Again this is not the intention of my initial post, but felt like you die hard posters who are missing a now dead forum, needed some red meat for the Controversial forum.

My initial post has nothing to do with my red meat post. However do you discount what the video shows?

I've already stated that I know nothing about the real teachings.

However, I do seem to recall the Bible talking about stoning yet we Christians do not do that today, right? We don't smash babies heads against rocks, right? Interpretations of any religious teachings are going to vary. People read into them as they wish.

Most immigrants I know are more "American" than a lot of the lazy pieces of trash that I see walking around.

What about persons who come to this country to infiltrate and with a mission. To maim, kill and to be a enemy of the United States? This has/is happening and alot are 100% United States citizens by law. Till we understand the problem or problems our nation faces we will never fix anything. Our country is not on the most stable ground in its history right now. Those that choose to ignore that fact, live in a dream world that if you live long enough will prove you wrong. History is a great teacher.

What percentage of murders in this country are committed by immigrants, naturalized citizens, and natural born citizens? You are a victim of the media. What happened in Orlando is tragic, but it was 50 people. There were that many shot in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend by 'Muricans.

I oppose so you can count me. Wanna know why I oppose. I am a Christian who believes what the Bible says. Shame me all you want, call me a bigot all you want. You will not change me.

Shame you? All I said was that your theory of being "true Americans" is unadulterated crap and un-American. The survey I linked is nothing more than me showing you and those that believe like you that your theory is wrong. You say Muslims do not believe what we "true Americans" believe. 39% of the country , per this survey, says they oppose gay marriage. Who is closer to the average American? Not evangelicals. Muslims are closer to the average American than they are.

So you can tell me what your beliefs are. I truly do not care. I'm not shaming anyone unless pointing out the fallacy of your argument is doing so. I'm not trying to change anyone. Waste of time nor does it do anything for me.

mexitucky I dont know that answer. It was different than Chicago( which I agree certainly needs plenty of attention). But each life was a tragedy that it was lost over senseless violence.

I wont argue that either.

Clyde there is a old and new testament in the Bible. The old or the Torah( the first 5 books of the old testament) is what the Jewish people generally follow. Christians are followers of Jesus who is to paraphrase the "new testament" teachings and does not call for stoning but repentance of sins. Like Jesus told the adulterous woman at the well, " Go and sin no more".

There are no Old and New Versions of the Quran.

Now would you like to discount what the video says?

Again, it's all about interpretations. You showed a video of a group of people saying homosexuals should be stoned. I showed you a survey that disputes that.

The fact that you found a video and I easily found something to contradict it shows there is no singular thinking in that group JUST like there is no singular thinking in Christianity. You oppose gay marriage. I do not. I'm no more or no less Christian than you. We just disagree.

Have you bowed down and asked Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and publicly confessed that you have done that? Do you try to follow the teachings of Jesus and have you spent time reading the Bible to learn how Jesus would want his followers to act? Have you studied what the Bible says is sin and what not to condone or not and try your best to not do those things?

If you have done these things then we are alot alike.:thumb:

Look at you questioning my Christianity. Let's add this to your discussion about being "real Americans." We can now decide who is a "real Christian."

Just say what you really wanted to say in post 1. Muslims aren't real Americans.

When you have people straight up telling you and laughing at people who say only radicals think like this, I will take their word over a survey. Especially when the Quran tells them what to do. I mean these people are mocking.SMH. Ahh the power of a survey.

I want to be interested in this discussion. As a topic, it has so many possibilities. Alas, as always, discussion is not the intent. It's a topic posted to allow yet another bullying of differing ideas.

I'll retreat now and do something worthwhile....probably un-American by what I've read here. But, nonetheless, I'll do it, someone will have a better day because I did, and so I suppose I will settle for just being a citizen. Doesn't seem to be so bad, when faced with passing the moving target tests laid out as criteria to be considered American.

What I'll be doing is as a part of an interfaith iniative to help immigrants. Probably not a Christian either.

I never started this thread to argue. You need to read my first few posts where I tried to state that. Never asked anyone's opinion, just stated that this very thought had come to my mind and it made sense. What happened after was I was told how wrong I was. If thats what you want to do, then dont beat around the bush. I am no bully, but I will defend myself when I am told I am wrong for having a thought, and it was my thought at that. I never asked one person to agree or tried to ram it down anyones mouth.

So if you think its got possibilities I welcome your thoughts. I have always valued your opinion, but not this shade throwing at me.
