WOW, didn't realize this was the "If Necessary" game and that McCracken beat them first! Congrats to Scott County and McCracken County both, but Scott County bouncing back and winning it after losing first game 4-2 is pretty incredible!

Agree. Unbelievable run after losing their 1st game.

Seems insane to make them play that much and the boys need almost a week between the quarter finals and semi finals...

I watched the IN HS State Championships today on TV, and it is light years ahead of KY...2 teams, 1 game....now, they have 4 classes, so there are differences, of course, but KY could do something with the format that would make it more enjoyable, and probably fairer, across the board.

 

The teams are gassed by Saturday, and the quality suffers dramatically.

 

A quick check of today's stats...the four best remaining teams in the state...5 games, 23 errors, 96 hits, 17 unearned runs. That is NOT representative of the best our state has to offer.

No offense to the winners but McCracken owned them this year. Had the 2nd game been played on Sunday, I think McCracken makes it 4 for 4 against Scott Co. this year. The longest break McCracken had between games today was 20 minutes I believe. That's just rediculous.

I agree it is ridiculous. Too many games in a day.

I disagree it is too many games in a day IF it was a regular season tournament. However, it is too many games for a state championship tournament. Play a single elimination tournament and play on a college field. It is ridiculous the girls play in a city park and the boys play at a minor league baseball field.

It's too many on back to back days.

If it was single elimination, McCracken would have never even got a second chance. If you lose a game, life is going to be hard. Don't want to play four games in one day? Don't lose.

Was there this same talk by the Male fans last year when McCracken won and it would have taken Male 7 games In two days to win?
