Scott County 9 McCracken County 7 (State Championship)

Featured Replies

No offense to the winners but McCracken owned them this year. Had the 2nd game been played on Sunday, I think McCracken makes it 4 for 4 against Scott Co. this year. The longest break McCracken had between games today was 20 minutes I believe. That's just rediculous.

Anytime you start with "no offense" and then say basically McCracken is the better team, you aren't really saving face. If I'm Scott co, offense taken!

No matter how many time Mcraken beat Scott, they didn't when it matters. With that logics you are saying Mccraken is really the state champs. Well if we apply that logic and say McCracken is better (so they are really state champs) wouldn't we apply the same logic and then crown MNH state champs!

I don't need to "save face" :lol2:

Then why start with "no offense"? Just say what you are trying to say!

Bet you didn't feel bad for Male last year did ya?

Did Male play 8 games in 36 hours? I honestly don't know the answer. And why you so mad?

It's more incredible that it was McCracken's 8th game in less than 36 hours.

That was impressive as well, but I think many of us predicted that they would still come out of the Loser's bracket given their incredible depth and numbers. Definitely some great stories associated with this memorable tournament!

If it was single elimination, McCracken would have never even got a second chance. If you lose a game, life is going to be hard. Don't want to play four games in one day? Don't lose.

Agree it is going to be hard but tournament could be stretched out another day.

They would have had to play 7 in two days to win. (On Friday and Saturday)

Not mad at all. Just don't think anyone should minimize the accomplishment of Scott Co.

You are basically saying that no matter what the results were, McCracken owned Scott co this year and therefore they are actually better (if they hadn't had to play all those games). All you had to do was win the first game and Mcracken wouldn't have had to play them all. You are acting like the tournament format is at fault for you losing. Everyone is dealt the same cards.

If you played the way the boys do, McCracken would have been eliminated on Thursday. So you should be grateful the kids were at least able to create an memory of "the run" they made. It was an incredible run! And everyone in that program should be elated with what they did do and the heart they played with just to get back to that spot. Absolutely incredible! But it's not the format or tournaments fault they lost or had to make that run. Scott Co is state champs because they played the best state tournament.

To even put the statement in that they "owned" them is insulting to the winners and is an attempt to say "well you won, but we're better". They weren't. Better when it mattered. For whatever reason you want to say. Scott Co won their first game. McCracken didn't. Their own doing is what forced them to play all those games. They were lucky it was the format it is.

Guess what, I'm entitled to my opinion, whether you like it or not. Yes I think McCracken is better than Scott Co. They beat them 3 of 4 times and had those 8 games been scattered over 3 days, I think McCracken would have beat them a 4th time. I think most would agree.

And I think MNH is better than McCracken! Scott co is the state champ! It doesn't matter what we "think". Scott co took care of business when it mattered.

And to scatter it out over 8 days means it most likely would have been a one and out. So they would have been eliminated. You can't run a two and out state tournament over 8 days. Schools can't afford to travel that much. They run a 16 team tournament over 3 days. Don't lose the first game if you don't want to play all those games. But blame it on the format if you want! You're right, you get your opinion. Just surprised Male wasn't crying about it last year and why you weren't sensitive to them last year when you won??

I love the idea of a single elimination tournament. 1 Thursday game, 2 Friday, Championship Saturday.

All night games.

Me too! And play it on better fields. No reason that couldn't happen.

Who said anything about 8 days :lol2:

Got it. 8 games in 3 days. Read that wrong. Thought you were going back to your boys comparison.

I thought I already responded but if I didn't, yes, very incredible that they were able to do that. However, many of us predicted that they were about the only team who could do that given the sheer numbers and depth that they have on their roster since they merged those schools several years ago. I tip my hat to both teams and to all of the participants for making this a very memorable High School season and tournament.
