Suing because they won't serve him in the drive-thru lane (as a pedestrian), when that's the only thing open.

I've always understood that no pedestrian traffic at the drive through was a safety issue. Not sure how it could be made safe with both cars and walk ups using the same window.

While I understand his situation and empathize with him, I think this is a slippery slope for McDonald's.

 

1.) What if he gets hit by a car coming through? At that time of night, and in that specific situation, most people are not going to be looking for/expecting to see someone just standing in the lane.

 

2.) If you say it's okay to serve blind people, then there's going to be the chorus of others who may not have access to a car, that'll want to be served that way too.

 

3.) I would think regularly opening the window next to the cash register would ultimately lead someone to believe this would be a prime site to rob. Having people in a vehicle restricts their movements, and puts the employee in a little bit safer environment, I would think.

What are ya, blind?! Can't you read the sign that says no walk up traffic allowed?!
