That's what turns me off. If I want to listen to political crap, I'll go to that rally. If I want to hear music, that's what I want, however I do realize that it crosses over at times but if the music is nothing but, I can do without it.

 

I don't mind music with a message. Rock'n'Roll history features some amazing music with a social conscience. But it needs to be good music. Haven't been able to count on U2 for that since the Zooropa record, which was the first sign that they were slipping.

Always hated the Roger Waters/David Gilmour feud that kept Pink Floyd from going much beyond the early 80's. They needed each other but only saw themselves as THE one.

 

Always disappointed in the Felder/Frey/Henley feud. Felder was an awesome guitarist who stood toe to toe with Walsh. But he saw himself as a front man and he wasn't. Frey and Henley had to control everything and Frey did his usual push off the cliff to jettison another early contributor to the sound of the Eagles. (i.e. Leadon and Meisner)

I was more upset that Ritchie Blackmore wasn't at the R&R HOF with Deep Purple, than Cetera being missing. To me, Terry Kath was more important to the classic sound of Chicago than Cetera. Although, performance wise, Chicago probably sounded the best of all the bands that performed that night.

 

I was glad to see that Bun E Carlos and the rest of Cheap Trick could put their differences aside play together at the ceremony.

 

I had backstage passes to a Rainbow concert in Milwaukee, back in the day, and met Ritchie Blackmore. Of the words I would use to describe him, none would be allowed on BGP.
