In Division III, for the 2nd straight year Brooke Meier edges out Grace Workman of Dayton for P.O.Y

In Division II, for the 3rd straight year Graybill & Meyers are the last two standing. In 2014 they were Co-POY, and this year Graybill edges out Meyer by 1 point.

In Division I, the Top 5 were in a dog fight for the top spot until the final few ballots.

The 3 $500 Scholarship winners.........

Katlin Ashcraft - Holmes

Gabby Stewart - St. Henry

Ellis McCarthy - Dixie Heights

For those that were there and those not in attendance, Dixie Head Coach Roddy Stainforth's coaches comments on Ellis McCarthy's scholarship application were simply AWESOME!!! It got a standing ovation, for not only Roddy's well written comments, but what Ellis McCarthy has been able to accomplish academically and athletically under very trying circumstances.

If I can get permission I will post it......it was that good.

D1 has a lot of good , young talent.

Without question.

I see the NKY coaches didn't do their homework. I'll leave it at that.

No system is perfect.

I'm sorry, but Orick just getting honorable mention is a complete joke IMO. I will leave it at that! Congrats to the rest of the Lady Camels. WOW!

Any of those kids getting a chance to play D1 ball?

It's great that the NKS Coaches recognize their players like this.

i will hope that LB gets permission to post Dixie coach Roddy's permission to post his nomination. We all know we do not know nearly what goes on with all of our opponents' teams & players (that does not get put in the press), but I was sincerely moved by Ellis McCarthy's story. I am not going to get pulled into the "who was on what team and who won what..." on this night after listening to her story. Way to go, Ellis!! Best of luck in your future endeavors!!!

Can someone answer this, how does Highlands 2nd basement not get nominated with 1 error all year? This is a total joke by the coaches. JMO.

Congrats to all the girls for their accomplishments! Good luck to them all in the upcoming tournament!

There are so many great players, I'm sure there is much more than defensive skills taken into consideration when choosing nominees...leadership, team spirit, offensive abilities, attitude, effort, possibly academics, etc. This is just something else coaches do that will never make everyone happy though.

Not sure if you realize. Each coach gets to nominate 5 players from their own team. Are you questioning Highlands coaches?

Which of the 5 nominated Bluebirds would you take off to add Gabbard?

I agree 100 % even if the results may not have be perfect which can be debated all day but the speech Roddy gave about his player and what she overcome to play sports in my eyes is what it's all about. Congrats to all the young ladies for having good seasons and wish all of them the best in the remaining season and for the seniors thanks for everything for the past 4 or more seasons and best of luck in the future, you will be missed I know I'll miss my seniors great group of young ladies !!!!
