Dallas Moore Goes to JailPlus, Electric Citizen hosts hometown release show and local musicians unite for a benefit for Pete Snow

BY MIKE BREEN · MAY 18TH, 2016 · SPILL IT

Veteran Greater Cincinnati “Outlaw Country/Ameripolitan” singer/songwriter Dallas Moore is one of the busiest musicians in the area, playing shows almost every night of the week, whether around Southwestern Ohio or on tour across the country. But Moore has a performance coming up that even his most hardcore fans won’t be able to attend. That is, unless they get arrested in Kentucky’s Bullitt County in the next few days.

This Monday, Moore will travel to the Bullitt County Detention Center, located in Shepherdsville, Ky., about 20 miles south of Louisville, Ky., to perform an acoustic set for inmates. He will also be recording the performance for a live album, which will be released on the locally based Sol Records, which has put out Moore’s last several albums as well as recordings by area bands like Ridge Runner and Pure Grain.

Never heard of him.

He is really good.

For years and years he was mostly a local and sometimes regional act but the last couple of years he has gone national constantly traveling all over the US.

And you can catch him in all kinds of little bars around Greater Cincy. Definitely worth the free admission price if you ever get a chance and like that genre of music. Outlaw Country/Southern Rock.

Country music needs more dudes like Dallas Moore.

Current mainstream country isn't country and hasn't been for quite a while.

Dallas just posted this update, it is typical of his work ethic:

Great Day In The Mornin' Y'all!

You'd probably think that after playing every night the last couple of weeks on tour in Alabama, Florida, Kentucky,Ohio, New York City, Connecticut and Vermont and then recording a Live Acoustic Album in the Bullitt County Jail in Shepherdsville, Kentucky yesterday that Ol' Dallas would be ready to take a day off and hit the fishin' hole or maybe take a siesta at the palatial hacienda. WRONG!

I'm just now kickin' this sonofaEDITED into high gear. Seven shows in the next 6 nights in Ohio and Kentucky start TONIGHT with an acoustic set at The Liberty Inn in Liberty Township, Ohio 6pm til 10pm.

We'll be hitting KnottyPine SportsmansClub in Cincinnati,OH 10pm Wednesday, Friends-Backyard Grill in Clarksville,OH 6pm Thursday,Woodlands Tavern in Columbus, Ohio with The Dallas Moore Band, The Hellroys on Friday at 8pm, Riff Raff Tavern in Dayton,Ohio on Saturday and a double header on Sunday playing The Show on 42 in West Chester,Ohio 5pm til 9pm and then high tailin' it down to The Southgate House Revival in Newport,Kentucky for a 10pm solo set at the 5/28 & 5/29 Restore the Store: A Benefit for Rabbit Hash at The Southgate House Revival. Catch me if ya can as next week we head back to Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Mississippi/Memphis, Tennessee area for the 1st two weeks of June 2016.

It looks like another day alive Raisin' Hell And Slingin' Gravel...

Kick stands up and The Road King is Rollin' On!!!

See Ya Down The Road....

I've seen Dallas do his thing a few times, and he's good.

But why Bullitt Co., of all places?

I think it is the name.

I think it is the name.

I mean, if you were going to tell me it's because folks in Bullitt Co. are crazy, I'd have gone with that.
