How is the Scottie Bowl?

 

Campbellsville - at Glasgow - 8:00 PM Scottie Bowl

Barren County - vs.Metcalfe County

(at Glasgow) - 5:00 PM Scottie Bowl

 

Should these games be worth the long drive from Buckeye Lake,Ohio?

And then the drive to the Rec Bowl the next night, at Montgomery County?

August 19 (Week 0)

 

6:00 - Pulaski Southwestern v. Jeffersonville, Indiana.

8:30 - Pulaski County v. Harlan County

Might rethink the Rec bowl, being it is the same teams again.

I wasn't thrilled by it, of all the bowls I've seen.

 

As for the Scottie Bowl, I assume it's at Glasgow HS. I went to it at Barren County when it was called the Barren County Bowl (I think it changes names depending who hosts it that year). It has another name, as well, I believe. I went to at Barren County and didn't have a great time. But, it was pushed back from Saturday to Sunday due to weather and the stadium faces west and it was hot as hell and too early in the day.

 

For Friday, the better bowl is at WKU, the Rafferty's Bowl. Much better stadium and probably better matchups. I'd head do Death Valley at Stanford or the Don Marshall at Pulaski if I go to a bowl on Friday. But, I'm leaning toward a single game at Pineville Friday night.

Correction:

 

Rafferty's is Saturday. So, you could do Scottie Bowl at Glasgow on Friday and then the Rafferty's on Saturday. Basically the opposite of what I did two years ago on Saturday and Sunday (though not at Glasgow, it was at Barren County).

 

Not a long distance between the two, either. Though will be a long drive home. Which is the benefit of Montgomery County. Though, I'm probably going to Roy Kidd Bowl on Saturday in Richmond on Saturday. Since it's closest and I've been to it once and it was a good matchup then and treated well, though at EKU instead of Madison Central.

I like everything about the Rec Bowl.

I am going to wait until the KHSAA page has all of the schedules up before I finalize my plans.

Is Montgomery County still having their week 0 bowl this season? It was a good event last year and a fantastic venue to watch high school football! Plus, last season I got to see a defensive slugfest final score of like 7-0 or something with Collins and MoCo.

 

The Rec Bowl will be on Saturday, the 20th.

KHSAA doesn't do it, the coach updates the schedules on their and where school is out for the summer, they might not be updated til school starts back in August

Until at least last year, the KHSAA site has listed a PDF file of 'bowl games'. Usually not released until late July or very early August. Last year, I didn't see it before Week 0 started (though I may have missed it, but I saw it up afterwords). I think that's what NCF is talking about. The scoreboard site is just that, and left up to the teams to be a definitive source of all the games.
