Tis' the season folks. Who do you like? Who are the favorites to win? I'll post some figures later today.

We've seen some impressive performances this year. What say you track fans?

Suppose a good starting point would be share to share some of the elite performances we've seen over the last month. Most recently congrats to Highlands Mikayla Reichert who took advantage of her "last chance" at the Highlands Last Chance Meet yesterday with an impressive 128-6 throw in the discus.

Look out AA girl foes in the discus. Mikayla is peaking at the right time.

Kimberly Spritzky made sure that Mikayla didn't get the spot light to herself yesterday after pole vaulting 12-0 at the Region 4 A meet. Fantastic job Kimberly.

Last Thursday if you were able to attend the Scott Eagle Classic you witnessed the "Froschauer Factor." That would be Ryles Matt Froschauer. Is there anything this young man doesn't excel at? :lol2: Matt had not one, but two elite performances in both the 110m hurdles ( 14.35 ) and 300m hurdles ( 39.37 ). Matt is the clear hurdle favorite heading into the AAA Regional Championship. He's also a favorite in the 200m posting a 22.94 earlier in the season.

Coopers Caleb Watson excelled also at the Scott Eagle Classic posting an elite performance 1:56:26 in the 800m run. Congrats to Caleb who will be the odds on favorite in the 800 next Saturday at Ryle!

Simon Kentons Kailan Frazier will be a pole vaulter to watch next Saturday in the AAA meet after vaulting 12-0 at the Scott Eagle Classic. Teammate Tucker Mueller will be a favorite in the discus and shot put. Coopers Eric Pavek will look to steal Muellers thunder in AAA.

Covcaths Michael Schulte will be a favorite in the AA shot put, as will Highlands Drew Bravard in the discus.

The AAA 4x100 relay will be a dog fight between Ryle, Boone County, and Dixie Heights who is now healthy after the return of senior Austin Stacy who has missed a good portion of the season with injury. The Colonels posted a 44.29 time at the Scott Classic besting Ryle by .31 and Boones 44.53 result at the Area 5 meet. Looking forward to watching a great race at Ryle on Saturday.

In the 100m dash the leader of the pack in NKY has been Boone Countys Rondell Douglas. Dixies Cameron Barrett and Austin Stacy will be right there with him.

In AA Highlands Nick Kendall will be a favorite in the 100m dash. Teammate Nick Venneman will be a favorite in the 200m run. Speaking of 200 in AAA Ryles Matt Froschauer ( 22.94 ) and Dixie Heights Cameron Barrett ( 23.16 ) have posted top times this season. In A Walton Veronas Colin Crook will be a favorite in the 100 and 200m dashes.

Cooper will look to repeat as the boys AAA Regional Champs anchored by solid middle and long distance running and relay success. And the Ryle girls will seek to defend their 2015 title.

In AA the Highlands girls and Covcath boys will seek to defend their 2015 titles. And in A the St. Henry girls and Brossart boys will look to repeat.

I've just scratched the surface folks. Would appreciate more insights on A and AA. Hopefully weather cooperates, all stay healthy, and we see a slew of PRs. Make it a good one folks!

Well done! Thanks for the comments!!!!

Well done Content1. I believe that Cov. Cath. moved to 3A this year.

For Highlands on the boys side, the biggest bummer has been that Ethan Shuley missed the season and won't complete. Ethan is among the top runners to ever complete in the state and it is shame he won't be able to defend his titles and contribute to the HHS boys team.

Injured ? Year?

Injured ? Year?

I believe he plans to run for BYU once he completes his mission. Great family and kid.

Campbell County Junior, Rebecca Cline, has a chance to win her third regional title in the AAA 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles.

Good luck to all this weekend!

Yes, does anyone have times for Cov Cath in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400?

Go to KYmilesplit.com and click the team button at the top of the screen. Find Cov. Cath (or the team you are looking for). Click on Season Bests about a 1/4 way down the screen in the middle. That will give you their best relay time of the year.
