May 4, 201610 yr Alert just came across my phone that John Kasich is dropping out of the race for the Republican nomination.
May 4, 201610 yr Without Cruz to hold all those votes for the "Stop Trump" folks, he was in trouble. He never did well enough in the places he needed to. He was shamefully poor in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic states that followed the Ohio primary, where he needed to make some votes for himself but instead was swept by Trump in those late April states. Hail and Farewell, Gov. Kasich.
May 4, 201610 yr Author I wanted to like Kasich but he ended up as unlikable as any and more unlikable than many.

May 4, 201610 yr I wanted to like Kasich but he ended up as unlikable as any and more unlikable than many. This cycle -- in both parties -- has been dominated by outsiders capturing the frustration people have with the direction of our country. It was a tough year to make your case as the "status quo" representative in a primary.
May 4, 201610 yr Congress is the real deal where we need change to impact the country. The Senate is as bad as it gets.
May 6, 201610 yr There goes your last chance for a decent 4 years. No thanks. His miserable disposition would make for a nauseous and depressing four years.

May 6, 201610 yr This is something we agree upon. I'd say there is much we could find agreement on. The former Ohio governor is certainly one of those. Just when you get interested in his ideas and want to learn more about him, the governor just smacks you in the face with his sour disposition. I honestly think this is one reason that Kasich didn't catch on with the voting public more than he did. Ideas certainly matter but so does personality. Hillary suffers from some of this as well. She is often seen as cold and calculating and not as warm and inviting as her husband or even as George W, both of whom are very likeable men, politics aside. But as you correctly pointed out, even Hillary is more personable and likeable than Kasich. This is something John should keep in mind if he intends to travel this road again four years from now.
