John Fraley named Head Coach at Pulaski County

Featured Replies

If you've been to any AAU tournaments, you'd see that Fraley has a son or nephew that is one of the best incoming Freshman. I don't see him not being in the mix for a starting spot at some point. Don't know much about the 12th Region but it's hard to imaging the coach sitting his son/nephew.
Colton Fraley is a very talented incoming freshman and will definitely be playing varsity this year! He has the potential to work himself into a starting position at some point in time.

I have heard that Chris Fitzgerald will not be coaching Southern Middle School and will be the JV coach at Pulaski. Blankenship will be the freshman coach, Lee Fitzgerald the strength and conditioning coach, and Shannon Fraley is staying at Northern Middle School. Coach Powell, who was on the bench last year was told he would not be on the bench this year.

Todd Wood moving to the Bench or staying with Shannon at Northern? His son will be a freshman next season.

I have not heard what Woods will be doing. He has been coaching his son's AAU team this spring but have not heard his plans for next season.

I don't know, jack from squat, about the program or all of the participants, but the longer this thread goes, the more I think this could be a real thing...

"This team will eat itself alive."

Coaches having kids coming up, kids moving schools for whatever reasons, last year kids playing time cut.....I agree, a lot of talent for sure, my question is can it co-exist? There is an old saying, "if you met your girl by her cheating, don't be surprised when it all goes to pot because the behavior is repeated". :idunno:Time will tell I guess and best of luck.

Wow, the circus called Pulaski County is better than Barnum and Bailey ever thought about putting together in their 3 rings. Unreal.

The two transfers were at Somerset, correct? Did the families move?

Southwestern.

Too your second question, on paper they will.

What is Coach Fraley's background? Does he have a connection to Fitzgerald?

So the same county as they are in now.

Doesn't the KHSAA require a family to move PRIOR to the kid enrolling?

Like I said, on paper............

Come on, man, stop with the technicalities:lol2:

What is the stated purpose of the transfer? There's always a "public" reason. Academics?

This smells like the case where you just say abolish the transfer rule or remove the "for athletic purposes" wording.

Stated purpose - "Because thats how things are done in Somerset."

Corrected that for you...we are talking basketball, not football :lol2:

I would think long time Pulaski County fans would be thrilled to have another Fraley on the bench. Dave was coach of the 32-3 state champs in 1986.

As mentioned earlier, his son Shannon hit the game-winning shot in the 47-45 upset of Pleasure Ridge Park in the championship game.

Now another of Dave's sons will be head coach of the Maroons.

I have the audio of that championship game and would like to post the last minute or so of the broadcast but haven't figured out how to do it yet. My son is a techie; I'll see if he help.
