Again the AD did not hire himself, what about that dont you understand.

One school county. Either willing to do what it takes to win or not. They are not. Not their fault? Seems like a strange statement.

Not sure why people are saying this is a bad hire. From what I know about TJ, he has a heavier football background than he does basketball. He played QB at Union College and was an assistant coach for several years. He has been in charge of the weight lifting program for the basketball team for awhile now. He'll definitely have the football team committed to that, unlike former staffs have.

I don't know if its a bad hire or not I am hoping he does really great. But this process was interesting for sure.

I know TJ very well. He can get kids to play. The biggest thing with Owen County is giving him time.

 

They gave coach Fowler time and he had winning seasons. Owen would be a strong team in the district if the numbers they had at spring training stay the same.

Hate to throw a wrench in the mix but per a very reliable source I heard Coach W interviewed for Eminence job yesterday. Any second source to make sure I'm not blowing this out of the water?

From what I have been told nothing would surprise me with TJ. From a good source (another member of the hiring committee) he "interviewed" three candidates on his own. He interviewed two candidates who would have both been GREAT for owen county. The job was offered and accepted by an assistant coach at a big time program but TJ would not set up a meeting with the superintendent and principal that the candidate requested so he backed out. It seems like he wanted to have the job all along in my opinion. The real losers here are the kids of Owen County.

Principal not in on the interviews? Seems strange - not surprising based on poor hiring process.

It is Coach Weedman(former Carroll HC) that is interviewing for the Eminence job. He is already a teacher in the district. Coach Wesselman is the Owen County coach. Just to clarify the Coach W confusion.

Coach Weedman did not apply for the Eminence job.

There for a second I thought I had heard wrong. Wesselman of Owen County has interviewed; not Weedman of Carrol.
