March 9, 201610 yr I have watched this video several times and am having trouble seeing this man as a victim. I will not deny that black males are more scrutinized than their white counterparts. However, this guy seems to be looking to be victimized. Who knows what he said or did to the officer prior to him beginning to videotape the incident? Thoughts? Jaywalking video maker in jail on contempt charge
March 9, 201610 yr I had read about this earlier, but after watching the video I'm siding with pedestrian. Looks to me like the officer was waiting for him to do something illegal, no matter how minor. Maybe the guy should've been calmer after he was estopped but hindsight is 20/20. I think its harrasment.
March 9, 201610 yr There's no question black males are on the radar in Cincinnati and get stopped for something you and I may not. That's now news. However, this gentlemen didn't help the cause. When you give people a reason to say "well but look how he acted....." it's an out clause for them when it comes to addressing the real issue.
March 12, 201610 yr Yeah, I don't think the arrest was for jaywalking. The guy wanted to get arrested IMO, just for his little video.
March 13, 201610 yr This is a serious question. Do you get "arrested" for jay walking or are you just issued a ticket? I thought you were just issued a ticket...
March 13, 201610 yr This is a serious question. Do you get "arrested" for jay walking or are you just issued a ticket? I thought you were just issued a ticket... He didn't get arrested for jaywalking IMO. He got arrested for obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana. He also got slapped with a charge of indirect contempt of court and spent six days in jail.
March 13, 201610 yr The issue to some is simple. Why did the officer roll up on him if not for the jaywalking ?
March 13, 201610 yr The issue to some is simple. Why did the officer roll up on him if not for the jaywalking ? Officer smell weed being smoked, came around the corner and saw him walking. Followed for a bit, stopped him once he jaywalked to question him.

March 13, 201610 yr Was that reported ? Yes, and it is what the FOP president said on WLW last week as well.
March 13, 201610 yr Yes, and it is what the FOP president said on WLW last week as well. If that's the case then no issue at all.
March 13, 201610 yr If that's the case then no issue at all. Yep, this guy was looking for trouble its pretty clear.
