Actually it was the 05 team. He won state in 04 with that loaded team that is one of the best I've ever seen. That 05 team had no business winning 1 game at Rupp but Riley did what I thought was his best coaching job ever that season. The man can coach!

South set the new state record for threes made in a season (355 and counting).... 2-3 generally is not the defense of choice to play South as they drive and dish so extremely well and shoot so well from the outside. Collins tried a 2-3 against South with disastrous results....

 

South made over 40+% of their threes and hit 355....that's a lot of shots.

 

Keep in mind South is also the state's top free throw shooting team, a tremendous edge come tournament time....

 

I have to go with South in this one.

For the Dragons, the third time will be the charm. These boys' come out firing as if they were headed to the OK Corral, launching it with no conscience. They shoot to get hot, then they shoot to stay hot. Win or lose, they will fly it, and my take is that tonight we'll see a them making shots ... for a win. Nothing against O-Cath, as I have not seen them.
