The Cardinals pounded Clay County in the 13th Region title game to punch their first ticket to Rupp since 2008. They are 0-2 against the Sweet 16 field, but both losses (Mercer County & Taylor County) were very close.

Christian County enters as BGP's #1 team in the state and the Colonels are led by the fantastic trio of Tyrik Edwards, Detorrion Ware, & Jaylen Sebree.

Cardinals or Colonels?

I like Christian county in this one

CC, better not overlook South. I predict CC will win but will be closer than most think. I wouldn't be shocked either if the Cardinals move on.

What does south have other then Caleb Taylor? I'm not familiar with any of their other players. I doubt they have the size and speed combination to stop CC's big 3

They have pretty good size in Taylor(6'9") and Griffith(6'5"). Griffith was a starter on Williamsburg's Sweet 16 team last year before transferring to South Laurel this year. The other starters are guards, Jared Grubb leads the team in scoring while Ryan Anders and JJ Ramey are both solid young players with a lot of upside.

CC hasn't lost to any team in the Commonwealth all season...why start now?

I'm really looking forward to watching Christian Co, especially Ware.

South Laurel isn't bad, but I expect Christian Co to roll in this one. As was mentioned, the Cardinals have the size, but I don't think they have the quickness to match up. They really need to control the tempo and pound the ball inside to have a chance.

Has Christian Co played anyone rated in top 20 in the state?

Yes hoptown and Paducah Tilgman and out of state the played Arlington (Tennessee)who is ranked 9th in Tennessee and Centralia (Illinois ) who is ranked 8th in Illinois... And those out of state teams are their only loses. And played hoptown 4 times so they are pretty much battle tested

The Bowling Green game was rescheduled at least once. Maybe twice I can't remember but the weather didn't permit. Centralia (IL) is the real deal. They've played Althoff Catholic (IL) to a single digit game twice and they play again in their sectional tomorrow night. I've seen Althoff play and they would easily be the best team in KY this year.
