Dragons repeated as 6th Region champs and have won 14 of their last 15 games.

Bulldogs are making their first ever appearance & boast the talented Dalton brothers, who combine to average about 37 points per game.

Who moves on to the Quarterfinals?

I mentioned to Getslow in another thread that I think this could be the most exciting 1st Round game, especially if you're the type (like me) that likes to see a lot of points scored. Lawrence County averages the most points scored per game among the tourney field (79.8) & Doss is at #4 (71.2).

Lawrence County's starting 5 can probably hang with anyone. But they don't have a 6th. Doss can throw another 4-5 players off the bench at them. I think it'll be close, but Doss eventually wears them down.

Didn't Lawrence County play in The Murph Classic at The Fieldhouse this year or last? Was thinking they did and didn't do very well.

Finished 3rd. Lost in semis to Moco on a buzzer beater by Art Walker. That was in the middle of a 13 games in 15 days stretch.

I will be surprised if LC hits their average. Doss is quick, long and athlethic, and like mentioned above they come in waves. They go 8-9 deep and are relentless in thier pressure. I don't know anything about LC, but I think Doss wears them down and keeps the game under 65 pts to win.

Lawrence Co. has a good chance to win this game! They are just as athletic as anyone. They score in bunches. The 5 they play can all shoot, pass and drive. They have played teams all year and WON most of them that play 8-9 players.

The problem is if they get in FOUL trouble. If they play against a TRUE post player. If they play against a Patient offensive team. If they are STAR struck by the lights of Rupp.

Time will tell, but I don't think pressure defense or fatigue will hurt them! If they can shoot at a percentage close to what they have all season from the 3-point line they will keep this game close.

Completely agree. They have a real shot to win this game and they will be overlooked. The 15th always is and uses it to their advantage well.
