Rockcastle County 30 North Laurel 7

Featured Replies

Rock was without 2 of their star lineman and came out slow and sluggish. Will have a lot of improvements to make before battling it out against Corbin in 8 days. North Laurel got their score in the 4th quarter during JV action. North Laurel looks to have a playoff season with some of their star players such as Asher and Brandenburg. Four 10 minute quarters were played.

The offense has to improve greatly for North Laurel. The varsity starters haven't found the end zone in their first 2 scrimmages and with JCHS as the season opener, the Jags better make the most of their offensive opportunities. I think changing the offensive schemes every year is not going to establish long term success for the Jaguars.

They looked much better this week against a tougher team in Rock than they did last week against Clay, so that is good news. If they improve every week, by seasons end, they should be in the playoff hunt.

Rockastle is loaded this year, I look for them to win the region. I watched NL over the summer and was really dissapointed with how they did in some passing tournaments. They have some good looking kids but this may be a long season for the Jags.

Congrats to the Rock. They will do well this year.

The Rock will be just fine. :thumb:

I agree. Rockcastle definatley has to be favored to win the Region this year with all they return from last years squad and that offensive line is a head coaches dream. I look for Bell Co., Johnson Central, and Ashland to give them a challenge but right now Rock definately has to be the favorite.

North is trying to break in a new starting QB as well as a new offensive scheme.
