You are right cvillecat, Raceland has assembled a great coaching staff. I believe I counted 11 coaches at their first scrimmage. They have added two new coaches this year; Caoch Preston who was at Boyd last year and Coach Lewis who was a long time coach at Ironton (over 30 years I heard). You add these two to go with the guys that they brought in last year: TJ Maynard who played at UK and was the all-time winningest coach at Greenup, Gerald Parker who just finished at UK, and Mike Francis who played at Georgetown. Add all these guys to Coach Vanderhoof, Fannin, and Burroughs and you have a very good staff. I think you are seeing the kids respond very well to all of these guys and it has shown in the preseason.

:thumb: :thumb: Good post lifeisfb, I agree. The Raceland coaching staff takes a back seat to no one.

i just think its wonderful that Raceland was able to get such a fine coaching staff. The knowledge that these boys will leave with this year and the following years to come will be incredible. I know that they have put their self out there to help each and every child whether its on the football field or the classroom. I know these coaches would like to see as many players get to college as possible.

Great coaches as you said. You forgot to mention a few. Coach Woods ,Helton and the strength & conditioning coach Rick Cornette alll contribute to the program.:thumb:

Not only is Hoof a great coach with a great staff, the kids at school all respect him and he has a great wife and kids. He is an all-round wonderful person and can preach a hell-fire-and brimstone sermon when called on! I remember him from high school and he has always been this way. Not suprising at all that he has been so successful in all areas of life. Keep it up, HOOF!

I knew both of his boys pretty well, Daniel and the other's name slips my mind right now. Where are they at these days?

Randy has only 3 daughters. The boys you are referring to are his nephews, Daniel & Chad. Chad is now in the military & Daniel is living in the area.

Two of Hoof's daughters are great basketball players. The youngest is a vital member of the Lady Rams and the oldest was a player at KCC but has ended her career due to an injury. The Youngest daughter may someday play football!!(LOL)

:thumb: Another great post and comment incognito, Coach Hoof is a fine Chritian leader and influence on these kids. I think that is not brought to the forefront enough sometimes (and yes, Randy is an excellent preacher, I have heard him speak in this area and he is excellent)
