The amount of debate is really what shows how difficult this call was. Someone can interpret the action one way, someone else interpret it another.

 

I do agree it was weird to see which ref made the call, because you are correct KingofClutch he didn't seem to have the best angle, but we can't know for certain what he saw.

 

Agreed, I think what made the situation worse was the hesitation by the two officials. Almost made it look like they didn't know what they wanted to call for a split second or who was going to make the call. I think they should have huddled before the call was made and talked it through after the moment of hesitation. I know one thing for sure, I wouldn't want to be a high school official lol. Especially with the gentleman from Ryle that was on a mad dash toward them after the game.

Ryle did get hosed on that call, I have no dog in the fight, it could have been any team playing at the time of that call, they would have gotten hosed. I spoke with the head official yesterday and he admitted you swallow the whistle. They aren't perfect. However, Michael Scott played a whale of a game and if he decides to take the game over, I believe Conner can take the district title. Good luck to both teams!

I was told by the coaching staff at Ryle because it happened in front of the their bench, one ref came out calling a block, one ref came out calling it a charge. I guess they flipped a coin:sarcastic:

I just watched the video and the report you got was incorrect. Both officials came up with foul all and held it. No signal as to a block or charge.

So the head official for this game was one of the Ryle coaches? Don't say you talked to an official, and then say the message you got was from Ryle's bench. Of course they think they got hosed, and they MAY have an argument about the call being bad.

 

2 refs blew their whistle, neither made a signal right away (which is an issue for sure), the top official then signaled a charge, and called for a conference with the other official. They spoke and the charge stood. This is all from memory, sounds like Clyde has watched the film, but I believe this is how it went down. It would have been ideal if only 1 official blew his whistle, or they were at least immediately decisive with their call, but they weren't. Far too close of a call to say anyone got hosed.

Yeah, his mad dash ran into the Conner AD and he thought he was going to be able to shove the AD out of the way and get to the officials...the AD is not the one that went backwards...

It wouldn't have gone to the possession arrow. Blarge would have happened when shooter still had the ball in his possession so Ryle would have retained possession.

No, your assumption is incorrect. I never once said the head official was a Ryle coach. Please put your glasses back on and read my post. I never mentioned either post in the same conversation, they were separate.
