Augusta 77 St. Patrick 44

Featured Replies

How has St. Pat won 11 games. They have no PG. Bauers stats are atrocious. Averages 5ppg, 5 TO per game, shoots less than 28% from field, less than 20% from 3 pt, less than 50% from ft line.

Swolsky gets bumped by Snapp and he is done. Soft player. Hates contact. Scores a lot against weak competition.

Frey has a little bit of talent. Stop him and you win easy.

Kinda rough on the Patties.

I've known the Bauer boys since they were born. They used to come into my office (their nana worked along side me for a couple of decades) on occasion and watch basketball highlight videos. Great kids. I don't know Swolsky or Frey, but IMO Frey may be the most improved player in the entire region.

No one is claiming that St. Pat is a world-beater. But I have great respect for each and every one that laces 'em up at practice and on game day.

Perhaps one of the best and most important posts on BGP!!!!!!!!

Thank you, I didn't mean to rant but it really bothers me when someone writes such unkind posts about young people. And the athletes at small schools work very hard because they are either playing in or supporting the athletes in other sports the school participates in.

I am rather curious about the stats you have on St. Pat. From where I sit these so called stats of yours are inaccurate and completely hogwash. Measure a player by their work ethic and all out effort. They don't have stats for that do they. You can take stats and twist them anyway you want. You cannot measure the size of the heart of players, another stat not to be equated too. Why do I know about these intangibles, well 35 years coaching in college and high school have given me great onsite. I personally coached a team that should not have won six games. They needed up winning 13 and a game in the district. On paper, those stats say we couldn't beat little sister of the poor. Get your facts straight, file your so called stats into file 13 and let us see how things turn out for St.Pat. I would be very happy to have Brennan Bauer as my point guard along with his brother. Throw in that soft kid name Swolsky and that other player, maybe most improved 10 thregion player Jakar Frey.I would love to coach these young men. So stop being a jerk and calling out kids the way you do.

10thregionobserver how can you like a post #16 that DIRECTLY negates the very statements made in #9 your own post? If you're confused OK but if not, I've got some ocean front property for sale in Arizona. Just sayin'.

He was classy in his response. So I liked it

That's me. Ask around.:D

Anyone else with thoughts on the game? To me, it was illustrative of the way Augusta has been playing lately. Dangerous draw in the 10th.

Augusta to me is the hottest team in the 10th. They have 3 players that can easily get 20 each night. If I'm not mistaken those 3 have started at least 3 maybe 4 years in a row. They have been a part of winning teams since. That's good no matter where you are. Plus they have good role players.

I was at the game last week. St Pat played pitiful. Why? Maybe they didn't want to show them stuff. I don't know. But they played them pretty tough in the previous games based on the scores. I didn't go to those games. I am betting the district game will be a 10 point game or less. It is hard to beat a team 3 let alone 4 times.

And just for the record. I apologized to sportsaholicmamaw in a private message and told her I wouldn't do that again.

Look, I have no idea who anyone is on here except a few people who attended my elementary school but I only know their screen name not their real name so I know this is not about me. But I do know that post was uncalled for. My post dealt solely with naming players specifically and making inconsiderate remarks on a public forum. And as for coaches, I haven't been one for years but I do know you treat children with respect. I don't know where those stats are because I can't find anything in depth on the KHSAA website except leading rebounders, best shooting %, freethrow leaders and team totals in general. End of my post and I don't want that kind of discussion of young people ever again.

Yes, Mcpapa, like I wrote in my post, Augusta played a very good game and I hope the district games are competitive.

KHSAA website. Go to Riherds scoreboard and schedules. Click 2016 season. Pull up St pat. It will show each players stats for fg%, 3ptfg% ft% scoring avg. etc. it is a very informative site

Wait, I'm sorry. You think I coach St Pat? Wow, you must really dislike your coach.

I don't recall anyone saying that. I did not for sure, and I kind of felt like this year some of the parents, of which I'm not one, were really getting behind that coach. The games I've been to, which have been a painful struggle for me but I love this team, there were times I felt there was a connection between coach, the players and their learning experience that really showed by quality of play in their best games. To all Saints Good Luck in the District. I will always be a fan.

You didn't. Someone joined today and posted a pretty nasty remark to the coach. But it was removed. Pretty low blow to the coach of that team. Heck I'm rooting for St Pat. Word around the region is that the coach is doing a heck of a job. Someone posted that he is a combat veteran. Thanks for his service number 1. Number 2 Im sure he is intense and a winner. Good luck St. Pat.
