Surprised this hasn't been a topic yet. Couple of surprises couple no brainers. The one I'm surprised the most by is Tony Dungy. His record is not HOF worthy. I don't want to hear about what he did as a person to help the game, if that is such a big deal them why isn't Don Coryell in? I dislike very much that they waited until Ken Stabler died to elect him. He didn't improve his stats between this last year and this year. T.O. being a head case loud mouth kept him being first ballot imo. If Stabler got in when is it Ken Andresons turn?

Which stinks b/c Anderson had one of the best games ever for a QB who lost the Super Bowl. The 2 INTs hurt, but he still threw for 300 yards and 2 TDs while completing 74% of his passes.

 

As for his career, he was an MVP, 1st or 2nd team All Pro 3 times, and was the league's leader in QB rating 4 times. His numbers stack up better than others who have gotten in.

I went to high school with Kevin Green's sister. He would come up to visit from time to time. He is a big man. He was always very nice and would always stand around and answer our questions about Auburn. Loved watching him in the NFL. Thier father was stationed at Ft. McMClellan in Anniston Al.

How does Tony Dungy get in ahead of Jimmy Johnson and Tom Flores? I know they both had unsuccessful runs at Miami and Seattle respectively but Johnson built an incredible machine at Dallas that just blew teams away and Flores won 2 Super Bowls, was an assistant on one and played on one. I thought Dungy had incredible teams at Tampa that couldn't win a big game. Gruden comes in and wins right away.
