9th Region Player of the Year

Featured Replies

Are you being serious? Weyer, Mcclendon. They are the best two players in the region regardless of class.

I'm being serious, i agree that Weyer is the front runner for POY, but I don't think he's running away with it just yet. Even though VonHandorff isn't having a dominant season, it's a pretty good one on who i think is the best team in the region right now.

Doesn't equate to MVP though for CVH.

Weyer is dominant period.

1) Weyer

2) McClendon

3) Scott

4) Goetz

5) Bezold*

6) CVH

7) McNeil*

8) Snapp

9) Meyer

10) Hemmerich

Good list. Each player has had a great season so far. Take each one off their respective team and each team drops several notches.

I would not argue with your top 10, I think that McClendon and Scott are ranked a little too high, I would probably slot them in behind McNeil.

Weyer hands down and shouldn't even be a debate IMO, not only does he score, rebound, pass and plays defense he makes other players alter shots and change direction when they go to the basket. Ben can score in many different ways, I am not taking nothing away from the other players mention because they are very good and having very good years they just aren't the player Ben is, again IMO.

If we were talking about pure talent, yes, but in terms of MVP for this year, Bezold and McNeil get asterisks and a lower ranking because of injury. Michael Scott is having an incredibly underrated year. Kid is a beast and does things that both do and do not show up in the stat line.

If you are using that logic, then you should have not one, but two * next to Hemmerich. He missed 4+ weeks of the season with an ankle injury.

So, had Weyer's wrist injury kept him out longer than a couple games...or any of these boys is/was unfortunately knocked out with an injury (no fault of their own)...they automatically lose some POY "points"?

Some criteria is feasible...played in

> 50% of games???...but penalized for a 2wk/-even 4wk injury seems unfair.

If I'm POY I want to earn the vote because my play surpasses all others in the region...not because players A, B, & C got hurt...thus giving me the edge.

I am not sure that POY is the same as MVP, in some cases yes... but not all.

So, does the injury mean they are less of a player because they got hurt.

Why no asterisks on all the kids that unfortunately suffered an injury?
