EZ Living Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Congratulations to the Conner lady cougars JV team as they captured their 3rd consecutive regional championship last night at Notre Dame with a 39-19 victory over the Highlands lady bluebirds. Congratulations to the girls who made the all tourney team, Casey Hite, Maddie Burcham and tourney MVP Madi McLemore. Over the last 3 seasons the lady cougars have only lost 3 games, 2 in 2013-2014, 0 in 2014-2015 and they just recently lost a heartbreaking 2 pt game to Simon Kenton for their only blemish of the 2015-2016 season to date. Finish out the season strong ladies and enjoy yourselves.
Don't_Hate_the_Playa Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I hope this success translates to varsity regional championships and state tournament appearances! There certainly seems to be a lot of talent at Conner!
Remmac2 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Conner does have a lot of talent in successive grade levels including an outstanding 8th grade group, that should provide them with some real contenders in the next few years. They play an aggressive style that jumps the "weak at heart".....love the way they played D sat. night and cut passing lanes, trapped in half-court.....very effective. Congratulations ....they earned it!
CAP Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Congratulations that's a very good accomplishment and I agree they have some young talent for sure. Let's keep in mind that a lot of schools have young talent that are playing varsity only is there a reason some of these girls aren't or did they move some down to play in the JV tournament, just asking.

Conner has 2 frosh that play only varsity.
CAP Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Conner has 2 frosh that play only varsity. I wasn't sure and that's good sounds like the future is bright for Conner

Congratulations ....they earned it! Both 7th and 8th have pieces that project for high school. As I posted in another thread the 8th grade center for Conner is going to be a really good high school player. Big strong girl with ball skills who can shoot from the outside. Good post game.
scherr Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Conner will be the team to beat in the 33rd (and the 9th) over the next several years. Their current 8th grade and 9th grade classes are really, really good. They have bigs and guards. Two freshman already playing only varsity, with loads more talent on the way. Their biggest problem will be finding court time for all the talented girls as they come up into the high school system!
CAP Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Not denying they have talent coming but I heard this same thing a few years ago. Also hard to predict the future because we all know things change and girls interest change. I wish them luck.
CAP Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I hears they are all heading to Latonia. Now that's funny but some wouldn't surprise me.
Remmac2 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I hears they are all heading to Latonia. Now that is funny.......I can see it now, BREAKING NEWS !
Badger Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 A lot of talent is moving up in the ranks. It will be interesting to see how that is managed. Time will tell
lawildcat Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I've seen this JV team a couple of times this season and came away very impressed. Future is looking bright for the Lady Cougars!
