nWo Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 We've had fun complaining about the snow but there are some who will be out in it no matter what. As Winter Storm Jonas hits Arlington National Cemetery the Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier continue to perform their solemn duty. Jonas is being predicted to be a record setting blizzard for the D.C. Metro Area with over two feet of snow being predicted. The Tomb Guards maintain a constant vigil at the Tomb and in the most the adverse conditions they are undeterred from their mission. (U.S. Army photo by Cpl. Cody W. Torkelson)
mcpapa Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Props to everyone outside doing their jobs. I was enjoying an extended stay at Christ Hospital courtesy of DKA, among other things, this exact time of year, 2014. The weather was just about like this, maybe a little colder. I was amazed at the people walking the beams, working on new construction at said hospital, in the weather.
Beechwoodfan Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I once had the privilege of visiting the tomb of the unknown soldier. Quite a moving experience. I know a lot of nurses who like snow storms. Lots of overtime earned by those who cover for those who don't make it in.

I over heard nurses at our local hospital discussing staying at the hospital for several days in a row.

To my knowledge these guys NEVER stand down even when a hurricane was approaching a few years ago, they stood the post.
