Final from Ft. Thomas

I was not at game but can't wait to hear all about this one. I did hear that Highlands was at full strength with everybody back.

Not true. Jansen out with a concussion.

I stated I was not at game just going on what I had heard. Is Jansen a starter?

HC goes to HHS and punches them in the face. The game plan against the

Birds is to get physical and until this Birds team decides to punch back, it will be more of the same for them. They are too nice and there are only a very few that fight back and play physical. They have two choices, finish out the season as is or decide they want to play physical and beat some tail. Unless they choose the latter, they are mediocre right now.

HC played great defense and followed the lead of a couple teams that have played the Birds well. McClendon is a threat on offense, but just causes Chaos on defense. So smart and quick on the defensive end. Tucker played well. Heck, I thought all the HC kids played well and played as a team. Gabbard hit a couple of very timely 3's and Chames did a great job on the boards.

HHS has to find themselves. Jansen out and Coffey played limited minutes coming back from a concussion, but that really very little effect on this outcome. HC just played better and HHS looks lost at times. They have cut the rotation some, but I think we may even see more of that coming down the road.

Nice win for HC. Birds...back to the drawing board. Still a long way to go!

She has started multiple games. She's another Freshman.

Sounds like it was a good win for HC on the road at Highlands which is always a tough place to play and win.

Nice win HC! Highlands will get it together and will be fine come the end of the season.

Meant to add...McClendon has been taking some heat lately for her attitude or style of play....but my personal experience watching her play for a long time...I have never seen anything but a good kid and hard worker that goes to work every game. My daughter enjoys competing against her and has nothing but good to say about her.

Also noticed the HC side was noticeably small. Was there a Boy's game tonight? Thought is would be a bigger crowd.

I was scouting boys games tonight or would have been there. AND.....it's pretty cold outside.

Might be last time this happens.......

What happens?

Overall this was a very good and competitive game. Close for most of the game and HHS was down early and made a run to go up and remained for most of the 3rd and then HC made a run to go up and never relinquished it after that.

There different HC girls making plays at different times, Beal, Gabbard, Criegler, Chames and others.

I thought Adler was rushing her shots in the first half and that bothered her most of the game although she had a couple of nice moves around the basket and did hit one 3. She had open looks but seemed a little strong with the shots along with not having her feet set. I also thought that HHS would move McKenzie outside with Chames on her and give an opportunity to use her athleticism against her.

McClendon, controlled the game as usual and the others feeds off of her leadership.

In reference to RCC9's comments about behavior, there were several times during the game that members of both teams offered hands to help the other up. The game got a little rough towards the end, there was nothing but good sportsmanship on the floor tonight. GOOD JOB HC and HHS.

Any one have the stats? If so please post.

I think I'm missing something

I think I know what it is, but don't want to open a can of worms.
