hoops5 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I am a proud Aldis shopper. Happy to have one in a more convenient location. I still mostly shop Kroger. But I love to hit up Aldis to stock up on dry goods, canned goods, coffee, dairy, frozen, cleaning supplies, etc---then take a look at my receipt and be amazed. Love that it's a smaller store so you are in and out. Only complaint is that it can have long lines. The produce is decent for a great price, but they don't always have the best selection in fresh items. Anyone else here an Aldis shopper?
JDEaston Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 The wife goes occasionally to grab some canned goods, snacks, and frozen foods. Mainly things the kids can fix for a quick lunch when they are not in school. We do most of our shopping at Kroger or Sam's club though, by we I really mean she, I rarely venture into the art of grocery shopping. I do take care of the meat selections, though I generally buy beef, pork, or seafood from local meat markets. I'll let her buy chicken wherever she wants, but I'm pretty selective with where I buy my meat. I imagine if it were a little closer she would probably shop there more often though, but there are three other grocery stores closer to us than Aldi, even though Aldi is only about a 10 minute drive. Some of us from high school get together a few times a year for a trip to a cabin up in Ohio and a couple of us usually do stop by Aldi on the way out of town to grab some snacks and seasonings to take with us. Most of what isn't eaten gets thrown away so it doesn't make sense to buy that stuff at Kroger and pay twice as much for it.
InItToWinIt Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I plan on shopping there when I have a house this summer because my parents have told me about good food for good prices there. The only difference is I call it ALDI!

And by the way, nice avatar, and to everyone else that is about the limit for avatars.

hoops5 Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 I haven't been paying attention, where at in Florence? From their facebook promotion: "Get your quarters out Florence, KY – ALDI has arrived with a fresh new look! We’re excited to open our store on Monday, Jan. 18 at our new location: 5475 Houston Rd. The first 100 shoppers will receive a Golden Ticket for a chance to win ALDI prizes. But that’s not all – you can also enter for a chance to win Produce for a Year! We’d love to see you at the festivities!"

Haha I contradicted myself, but honestly chicken pretty much all tastes the same to me. I can't say that about steak, ribs, etc though. I like my beef to have been eating grass 24 hours before I eat it. Thanks, I almost sent you a copy of it for approval before I changed from my old one. But I figured I'd find out soon enough either way.

Pura Vida Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I just read Aldis does not accept credit cards, you have to bring your own bags and a quarter for a cart. Is this true? If I have to “think ahead” to shop I’m not sure if it will work for me. lol
