Paris 69 Bracken County 55 (10th Region Class A)

Featured Replies

He has manned up and won plenty of games. Scored over half the team's points tonight and went over his own average. I'm not sure what more he's supposed to do?

WIN!!!

Paris (IMO) wasn't very crisp offensively tonight. They won the game with pure athleticism.

Congrats to BC's Austin Crawford for surpassing 2000 career points tonight.

I would have to disagree on this one. The first 3:30 minutes of the game the refs tried to take Paris out of the game. BC was in the bonus in the first quarter. If you were at the game you know exactly what I'm talking about.

IMO Paris did what they were supposed to do. It was hard to get a flow offensively when the whistle is blowing consistently. They attacked the zone in the middle, shot lay ups when BC tried to press and hit their free throws consistently.

Looked pretty good to me, not to mention when one of your most athletic players "Wells" only played about three minutes the whole first half due to foul trouble.

Wonder why they did not hold him back? Happens all the time

Not in Paris. Get to school!! Parents have to go to work.

I am talking about tonight he should have took the game over in the last two minutes and tried to win the game. But instead he let other members of his team bring the ball up the floor when he should have brought it up and scored instead of not having the ball in his hands.

I even saw Hinson tell him to take the game into his hands. But he wouldn't for some weird reason.

I am not saying that he is not a good player because he is a every talented player and he is one of the best in the region but not the best because of the reason that he won't take the game over in the clutch.

I was at the game and agree about there being no flow to the game. I think Paris settled for questionable perimeter shots in some cases in the 1st half.

I'm actually paying them a compliment. Had they been able to maintain some flow to their offense, the margin would've been far worse. Wells and Garrard are ridiculously talented.

All that I saw tonight at the game was that Bracken couldn't guard their own shadows in this game.

Also the refs were awful in the first half tonight. Every call was going Bracken's way. So you could say that their was some "home cooking" going on tonight and Hinson was really bending the refs ears tonight when ever they were on his side of the floor.

Are you blind?

It didn't look like he had that many. I am just surprised that he won't man up and shoot the ball when the game is on the line. He had plenty of chances to take the game over but he won't do it.

Again are you blind?

Austin had 34 points, 12 reb, 2 blocks, and two steals. What more do you want the kid to do? He was getting rode like a damn horse most of the game.

Game over. Paris to good. In a league of their own. Nice job on the road in a hostile environment.

In this game they were in a league of their own....

Paris is very talented and obviously very athletic. Big fan of this team. But in my eyes if any of Bracken's supporting cast (Hamilton,Engnes,Jones,Williams) would have came to play tonight the outcome may have been different. The 4 combined had 21 points for the game while shooting a 26% Field Goal percentage combined. Not gonna win many ball games that way.

Defense wins games. IMO the game plan of let Crawford get his and stop everyone else worked pretty well.

Having our 2nd leading scorer on the bench for most of the first half with 3 fouls didnt help our cause.

Just getting home from the game and what I expected to happen happened! Crawford doesn't have much help and what supporting cast he has, didn't show up tonight! Hamilton nearly always a solid contributor struggled at the line tonight.

Paris's athletes too much plus they have a solid coach in Brooks!

I am curious. Has Crawford had much help in the past few years? It sounds as if he takes 70-80% of the shots and the ball is in his hands just as much. Is his team only as good as he is during games?

I dont understand what some on here are trying to imply. Crawford did what he always does and that score points and rebound. Nobody on the Paris side could stop him. He owned Clark what time Clark was on him. Got to the rim any time he wanted.

Problem for Bracken last night as it has been all season was a bad 3rd quarter. Looking back at their losses it has always been when they had a rocky 3rd quarter. Had all the momentum going into the half and just came out flat to start the second half. Hamilton picking up 3 fouls in the 1st quarter was huge for Bracken. He never got into the flow of the game. The rest of the supporting cast was off as well. When everyone is clicking Bracken can and has been very good. They just need to figure out how to put it all together for 4 quarters consistantly.

These two will have a rematch at Paris later this month I do believe so lets see if the adjustment are made and Bracken can get it all going for an entire game. Who know come late Feburary early March they could very well meet again.

He has a good cast around him. Just have not been consistant this season so far. Hopefully they get it together for the 2nd half of the season.

False..

Field Goals last night..

Austin- 13/24 = 54% shooting

Rest of Team- 6/25= 24% shooting

I thought that Clark done what he was supposed to do with Crawford. Wear him down. Crawford is a legitimate solid basketball player, he is going to get his regardless. It's about how hard you make him work to get his. He has to play the entire game, and when games are close and his motor has been running non stop for four quarters, the rim may start to shrink a tad bit. I felt like he missed some clutch free throws that could have put them within distance of a much closer game after the 2 minute mark.

I am anxious to see them play on a neutral court. I don't think it will be this close. And when they come to Paris, that home cooking in the igloo goes out the window.
