Louisville 77 N.C. State 72

Featured Replies

Louisville weathers a late storm to hold off the Wolfpack on the road. Quentin Snyder and Chinanu Onuaku had big games.

Great game for Snider. 21 pts off great shooting from behind the arc.

12 and 13 for Onuaku.

Louisville should have had that one well in hand but foolish play down the stretch kept NC State alive. I thought I was going to leap through the ceiling when Lewis gave up the basket and one with a minute remaining.

Offensive rebounding kept NC State in this one.

Ill take any ACC road win.

Especially early on. Those first few possessions in the first half where they were getting two and three chances and tossing Onuaku around were frustrating.

Once Onuaku started fighting back, he won that game.

It was a good road win should have covered the 6 point spread.. By far Snyder's best game as a card.

Did Jaylen Johnson ever make it to the right bench?

Much more impressed by his 2 made FTs than his directions.

36:00 of high quality ACC hoops. Last 2:00 of each half were tough to watch. In the 1st half, foul trouble and Rick wanting to see how kids would react left an interesting lineup (Levitch, Mahmoud, Deng, etc.) out there whilst NC State made a run. At the end of the game UofL played stupid and NC State made some really nice shots.

Good use of replay to get the ball back to UofL after Barber knocked the ball out. Should've been going for 3 anyway instead of driving.

UofL was most effective when forcing Barber to give up the ball via double team on the press and then denying the ball back to him. Barber is the straw that stirs the drink for NC State -- as shown by his 39.8 minutes per game average.

Snider was excellent. Seems to be the only G that wants to dribble drive to create either a shot or a pass.

Onuaku put 2 good games back to back and actually started playing after being soft and giving up 1,000 offensive rebs in the 1st half.

Mitchell was a spark plug as usual (no-look alley oop was pretty), but lost a ton of 2nd half minutes to Snider because he was playing so well.

Deng & Spalding showed some glimpses.

Mahmoud is lost on the floor.

Disappointed in Lee missing 2 critical FTs when he needed to make at least 1. Conversely, impressed with Johnson swishing 2 critical FTs just before that.

Louisville half court defense was solid for the most part. Rebounding in first half was really bad.

UL should have won this by 10+. A road win is always good, but that's not a very good NC State team.

I think when Rick left the Livitch group on the floor he felt/knew he could beat that team. NC is clearly offensively challenged.
