Hopefully I haven't overlooked any teams

 

There is only one undefeated team in the state of Kentucky, with a total of 3 teams who are undefeated against Kentucky competition.

 

 

12th Region

 

Mercer Co. - (14-0)

 

 

2nd Region

 

Christian Co. - (11-2)

 

 

6th Region

 

North Bullitt - (13-1)

Mercer County is the real deal. Folks talk about their schedule and I have as well but they are IMO one of the top 5 teams in the state and very capable of winning the Sweet 16.

 

I do think they will lose a couple of games. Not sure who to. They have Wayne County at Wayne County on January 15th. That has the potential to be a great game.

Wayne isn't playing very good basketball right now, but hopefully a game like this can spark them.

I think people get confused about what a schedule does and doesn't tell you. Having a great record against a weaker schedule does not guarantee that a team is good, but it doesn't mean that they aren't either. It just makes it a little harder to gauge.

 

People need to realize Mercer isn't ranked high because they are undefeated, they are highly regarded because they are really good.
