In my opinion I think a team from the North goes to play south I think there is some biased not saying refs determine the outcome but do believe there is biased.

 

I did watch the NCC, HHS game Saturday and not that I think the refs determined the game but NCC went to the free line I believe once where HHS went at least went 13 times and HHS is a very good free throw shooting team. HHS only committed 3 fouls the whole game and by no means am I knocking girls basketball by my next statement but for a team to only have 3 fouls the whole game is a little off don't you think?

I don't know if you read my other post about HHS and their defense, but this is a common theme in HHS games. They almost always win the foul differential and this same statement is made after many of their games. Many times, if they need to send teams to the line at the end of the game, they have to foul to just get teams into the bonus to get them to the line. They work hard on defensive angles and positioning and also play a lot of zone. They are also taught not to foul unnecessarily and make girls make shots rather than putting them at the line. Its one thing they work very hard on and it pays off. In girls bball, it's tough for the average girl to make a tough shot that they think they may get fouled on. So HHS uses that to their advantage.

 

And I'm almost positive they had 4 fouls in the second half. So that would mean they had zero in the first half. Maybe they did...I don't remember. And regardless, the refs that did that game would have no reason to have bias against NCC on their home floor.

 

I have ref friends that tell me they commend HHS on how they play defense. They are amazed themselves how infrequently they actually foul. Not saying they don't foul or refs don't miss some...just saying they miss some on both sides and typically the differential would end up the same even if they called every foul on both teams.

Not saying this determined the game and HHS is a good defensive team but no one is that good, there were several drives to the basket that some could have been called for fouls and hand checking is aloud anymore. I am by no means saying they were biased or that it determined the game because if NCC went to the line more than once they still have to make them I just thought the fouls were so way off.

The issue is in how officials are evaluated. It's hard to get an unbiased game on the road out of region and it's not because of bad officials (although there are plenty of those)...it's because those officials know exactly who is evaluating their performance. Hard to even blame them.

I'm still not sure what argument you are trying to make here ? That road teams don't get fair officiating in the 13,14,15,16 regions ?

If you are an out of region team playing in one of those regions, you are going to get the shaft. Plain and simple.

 

Out of region teams do not win at Clay County.....hardly EVER.

If it's that obvious, do out of region teams still schedule them? Why would they? Or why would any out of region teams schedule teams from any of those regions you mention?

Wins at home are against teams with records of: 5-3, 4-4, 7-5, 1-9, 10-1, 6-7. Home loss against a 10-1 team.

 

I'm sure some of those teams are regional teams, but it would not appear that they are power house teams. Probably 50-50 teams at best. They have 1 home win against a 10-1 team an 85-80 win, an out of region team. They also have a loss at home against a 10-1 team, an out of region team.

 

Not applying any statistical analysis, but your argument for this year would not appear to have anything to do with "home cookin' " . Looks like they may just play mediocre or worse teams.....

4th Region is very questionable this year as they have about 4 great guys and the rest are average to below average, several older ones need to quit as the have a hard time getting up and down the floor and think they are still good but the game has passed them by. But if no new ones get in you are stuck with who signs up each year and will work any game assigned?
