I do not agree with the reversal on the voting rights. There are only about 3-4 states, including KY, that non violent felons can regain their voting rights once doing their time.

 

I'm ok with the change on who/how marriage licenses are handed out.

I dont agree with the voting rights either for the record. I think everyone needs a second chance.

Then let the legislature that do not want to go on the record over this actually do it. Beshear used his lame duck status to give them cover.

I believe that I read that Bevin just want's the legislature to do it instead of executive order. So if it comes to his desk from the state senate, it sounds like he would sign it.

So now it's RIGHTFULLY on the Senators' plate.

Those that don't like Bevins' order must have disliked Beshear's policy for ALMOST ALL (99%) of his 8 years as governor.

 

Bevin said felons may continue requesting a restoration of their civil rights from the governor’s office, which includes the right to vote, to serve on a jury, to hold elected office and to obtain a professional or vocational license. That was how Beshear handled it “for essentially the entire eight years of his administration,” until he changed the process less than two weeks prior to the expiration of his term,” Bevin said.

We need to just lock the legislators in a room until they actually get something done. That's the bad things these days, not many want to do anything and the rest can't get anything started. I don't blame Beshear.
