What an amazing job being done at Male by Coach Wolfe and his staff. Congrats everyone!

Where does this team stand in Kentucky history? Top 5? The best? Best team in school history?

 

I am curious as to where they rank. I wonder if they would count as better than the 2002 Male squad.

I'm going to throw a bit of water on the fire. Before I do that I'll make it very clear that from a talent standpoint Male was without a doubt the best team in KY this year. I said the same thing last year and the year before. This year they were able to live up to it.

 

That said I'm not sure where I would rank 2015 Male on the list of the states elite teams. Male had 2 great wins over Trinity but their other out of district schedule was blah at best. Just like I've been very critical of other schools for padding their schedule it's time for Male to stop scheduling the Seneca's and Fairdale's of the state.

And maybe a win over a regional out of state team would have gotten them higher. Male vs. Colerain would have been a great game.

Male v. Colerain would have been a great game. Coach Wolf should absolutely upgrade the schedule, if his goal is to entertain you and I. If his goal is to win a state championship, he's doing fine!

. . . as declared by you and the Trinity faithful. I must have missed all the D1 scholarships for Male players the last couple years. Male beat Trinity in 5 out of 6 games during that span. When was the last time anyone has done that? Congrats to Coach Wolfe and Male on top 10 national ranking and a state championship! Great job!

Who had better talent the last three years?

Male has had talent and finally got over the hump with a championship. I assure you that the former players take pride just as much if not more than the current players in the 2015 performance. You could see them all celebrating together in Bowling Green.

 

Yes the Bulldogs have beaten Trinity 5/6 times and only have one state title to show for it. I'm okay with that considering no school-aged kid in Louisville (JCPS) knows a state champ until now. You CAN win state in a JCPS not named Central.
