Attorney Calls For LA Sheriffs To Be Charged With Murder

Featured Replies

I knew someone would overreact.

It's in the news. There are fair questions being asked.

As well as its Controversal, hence the controversial forum. If one lies on a report, if one shoots someone and does not inform the person he shot that he was the one who shot, not someone else, it's going to be Controversal.

You're right though. Let's just go ahead and convict without an investigation and charges being filed.

They lied about the whole incident... You don't think there is any reason to doubt what the officers say happened?

A few items:

It's not a cop-bashing thread as your knee-jerk reaction claimed. I stated that the video if from a site with a slant so that no one would waste their time making the website the story. I said there are fair questions being asked. I said it's a news story. I said nothing is 100% clear in the video.

YOU got police bashing out of it.

Why would I post a thread about a police officer doing his job? What's news-worthy about that? 99.999% of the time they do their job correctly. I'd be filling up BGP with threads about someone doing what we expect them to do. My dad is a retired officer. Should I post all of the things he did correctly?

I don't think anyone is questioning whether he is resisting arrest. That's obvious. However, resisting arrest in and of itself is not justification for having multiple shots fired.

Questions have been raised. It's a news story. If you don't like the police being questioned then get out of the thread.

When only negative stories are posted one can get the impression you are biased against the police.

It's newsworthy when an officer does something above and beyond the call of duty. Why not post those? Officers aren't supposed to run into burning buildings or grab a woman jumping off a bridge.

Thanks to your Dad for his service.

We don't get the entire story from the video. Why was he resisting? What happened prior to him being put on the ground? Did he have any kind of weapon? That's why we need to wait until the investigation is complete.

I don't mind police being questioned. I do mind them being convicted by the public without all of the evidence being presented.

Let the investigation take it's course. If there is reason to file charges, do so and try them.

What in the world is wrong with letting an investigation take it's course before we form an opinion as to whether it was correct or not? That way we can form an INFORMED opinion.

Because I don't need somebody else telling me how I should interpret a video.

Unless you are saying you are incapable of forming an opinion on your own, most people can watch a video and get a decent amount of information from it. Every video isn't the same, so it will vary from instance to instance. In this case, it's pretty cut and dry.

What happened before he was put on the ground? Did he have a weapon the video doesn't show? Knife, he was trying to get, for instance.

We don't have the entire video, do we?

Yeah, just like the videos in Furgeson showed Mr. Brown being assassinated, right?

I could go ahead and form an opinion, based solely on the video shown. I choose to wait until the investigation is complete before I convict someone.

As was the case in the South Carolina police shooting, what happened before the video is irrelevant. At the time the trigger was pulled, there was NO reason. Period.

Your opinion.

I agree, it looks bad. Again, is he going for a knife we can't see? I don't know. Do you?

I haven't the faintest idea. Why does anyone lie about anything?

Most of the time because they know they did something they weren't supposed to.

This happened in May 2014. Why did the witness wait this long to produce the video?

That's troubling in and of itself.

Does that change what's in the video?

Of course not.

Curious as to why they waited so long to come forward.

Of course not.

Maybe they were scared. After all, they felt like they just saw one officer shoot the other then watched both officers execute an unarmed suspect and lie about it.
