Attorney Calls For LA Sheriffs To Be Charged With Murder

The next police shooting controversy.

The link is from a site that has a slant. I used it because of it's the only one I've found that shows the entire shooting.

They are big on the right to film police. So...

Even with that the video certainly raises questions. It's not 100% clear but it raises enough questions that an investigation has been opened.

I saw this today and was going to post but I didn't have enough time.

It seems like they lied on their report, and the one deputy had enough time to say that he accidentally shot the other.

And yet another cop bashing thread.

What I see in the video is someone that is resisting arrest. Surely you can agree that he is. It's very hard to see what is happening other than they are attempting to handcuff him and he is resisting.

Should he have been shot? I don't know. I wasn't there. Also, the video starts after the suspect is on the ground. What happened before this to warrant the arrest?

I knew someone would overreact.

It's in the news. There are fair questions being asked.

How is it overreacting? When is the last time you posted a positive police story?

I didn't say there weren't fair questions. I said it's hard to tell from the video what is happening and what happened prior to lead to the arrest.

Your wrong on this one, there was no reason for officer 2 to use his firearm. None. Not only should he be charged with murder, he should be charged with attempted murder of a police officer.

**and before you come after me, 99 times out of 100 I am in full support of the police in any shooting, this time I am not.

Surely you can agree that he is resisting arrest.

Resisting arrest isn't a reason to kill someone. As much as you want it to be.

When have I said it was a good shoot? I said it's hard to see what is happening.

Talk about overreacting.

Show me where I said he should have been shot.

I'm not going to jump to conclusions without the investigation being complete.

Remember a place called Furgeson?

When have I said it was a good shoot? I said it's hard to see what is happening.

Problem is there was no reason to draw the weapon in the first place.

Exactly.

Again, we need to wait and see what the investigation shows. On it's face, I agree. The video doesn't show all that is happening at the bottom of the pile.

Keep back pedaling.

A few items:

It's not a cop-bashing thread as your knee-jerk reaction claimed. I stated that the video if from a site with a slant so that no one would waste their time making the website the story. I said there are fair questions being asked. I said it's a news story. I said nothing is 100% clear in the video.

YOU got police bashing out of it.

Why would I post a thread about a police officer doing his job? What's news-worthy about that? 99.999% of the time they do their job correctly. I'd be filling up BGP with threads about someone doing what we expect them to do. My dad is a retired officer. Should I post all of the things he did correctly?

I don't think anyone is questioning whether he is resisting arrest. That's obvious. However, resisting arrest in and of itself is not justification for having multiple shots fired.

Questions have been raised. It's a news story. If you don't like the police being questioned then get out of the thread.

Keep back pedaling.

No pedaling here. My stance hasn't changed. Read my posts.

Overreach much?

You're right though. Let's just go ahead and convict without an investigation and charges being filed. Why in the world would we want that? (Note sarcasm)

Again, remember a place called Furgeson?
