BINGO....we need a rebound/assist club instead of points. it would be interesting to see the shooting % of the players in the 1000 point clubs.

One of my 2 favorite high school players of all time is in the 1,000 point club. Has 4 school records that involve shooting %'s

FG for a season 65.31%

3 pt % for season 48.65%

Fg % for a game 100% 10 for 10

FT % for a game 100% 13-13.

I think a lot of it has to do with free throws. Officials are calling things tighter, and kids do a lot of hand-checking.

Sr. year 61% from the field and 76.7 from the charity stripe (253-330)!! Solid numbers for a kid that made the 1,000 club in his senior season alone!

The game is evolving. Transition pull up 3's are in. Taking charges is out.

 

Scoring is the newest emphasis (We see this with rule changes in NBA and college).

 

All of this is a plus in my opinion. If I never see another charge I'll be a happy man.

Bad coaching leads to big numbers for one player. I've seen poor game management while making no adjustment when a player gets on a roll.

Sorry but if you can't game plan against one player then maybe coaching isn't in the cards for you...

If you ask the best coaches across the state, how many times one player has beat them or put up 40+?

I bet you it's no more then a hand full of times... Defense is a lost art IMO
