Forecastle Festival 2016

Featured Replies

Forecastle announced via social media on Monday, December 7th that after an overwhelming response to their holiday presale of weekend passes to the festival, they are going to drop the ENTIRE lineup for the festival at noon on December 8th.

Last year's lineup wasn't dropped until late January, and the lineup wasn't released until mid-February the year prior. This also means they will be foregoing their usual process of hint-dropping and putting out clues as to which artists they will be featuring in the lineup.

The announcement will be made live on 91.9 WFPK at 12:00pm.

Nice, I had a great time last year the day I went.

Hope it's not as hot and humid this year. I lost a good 20 pounds of sweat that weekend.

Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes, Ryan Adams, Walk The Moon, Death Cab For Cutie, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Gary Clark Junior, White Denim, Moon Taxi, and Phosphorescent all confirmed for Forecastle.

Not bad. I'm glad to see the top headliners are a better fit than Sam Smith. Death Cab, on the other hand, is a band whose popularity gives me the same feeling of uneasiness as contemplating the infinite depths of space.

I've always felt like Death Cab has done a good job of appealing to a fairly broad palette ever since they released their album "Plans". :idunno:

Here's the complete lineup release. They said there will be two more waves of artists to be announced following the new year...one major wave, and one minor wave. They also said to expect some more Kentucky/Louisville artists to appear in the two forthcoming waves.

I like it. Will go again just because how fun I had last year but I'll probably just go on the one day that the schedule looks best to me unless the next wave of artists just blows me away.

I'll be there.

I would love to see Alabama Shakes live. I love them!

I would go, but I think I'm going to spend my small concert ticket budge for next year on a ticket to see the Boss in February. If first quarter is good at work, I may be able to go one day to Forecastle. I've always wanted to go, and if they announce some more that I'd like to see, I should do it. Right now I only know 4 of those bands/artists well enough to know I would enjoy seeing them.

Well, well, well! CONGRATULATIONS! 1200!

They're like a somewhat good Coldplay. More bleah than anything for me.

Admittedly, I've never given one of their albums a fair shake, but everytime I've heard their stuff I've cringed with clenched-fists until it stopped.
