RCC9, quick rules question. If a JV player starts a varsity game is she allowed to move back down to jv? Thanks

I agree with PioneerPride. However, I would add that it may not be illegal, but it comes off a little odd when that happens. Unless the kid started varsity due to injuries or some other program reason. Because if a kid is good enough to consistently start varsity, they have no business playing JV. Heck, honestly, if a kid gets a start at anytime at the varsity level, I would question the need for them to play JV. Unless there are a significant amount of injuries, a kid starting varsity is most likely a "top 8" in a program and there is no need for those type kids to play JV. In those cases, IMO, that is placing too much emphasis on winning at the JV level. UNLESS you are at a small school and they just don't have the numbers.

I know its early but if Ryle runs off around 5 straight wins and keeps gaining confidence look out for teams in the 9th.

What are the next games for Ryle? Does a 5 win streak seem possible?

5 games win streak probably won't happen, SK, at Mason Co,at Holmes, Conner,at Holy Cross, at Lou Christian Acad

Simon Kenton (#1 in 8th region)

Mason County (#1 in 10th region)

Holmes (#1 in 9th region)

Conner (district rival)

Holy Cross (defending state champ)

If Ryle wins just 2-3 of these games it will be a strong statement. No way they win 5 in a row.

But CAP would be correct if it did! Would certainly gain the attention of some of the 9th region teams.

True. However, all those games are winnable for Ryle. Just not sure if they can do it in that order. Imo, the only one on that list that could potentially give them real fits is Holmes. The rest should be good games. And they may surprise Holmes too if they can protect the ball.

Just that schedule alone gets my attention. Brutal.

And I predict they win at least 3 of them.

For some reason the announcer announced two non-starters as starting, messed up on the numbers. To avoid a T the non-starters (including one JV starter) started the game but were immediately subbed out by the two regular starters. I asked a friend at the game who the starters were and he shared this incident. The starters are four seniors (Lange, Jones, Jump and M.Schwartz) and one 8th (Scherr). Seniors cannot play JV and supposedly in Boone County neither can middle schoolers.

Very tall order indeed for Ryle to win next 5 in row. Not likely, true, but don't forget last year's Ryle team beat Mason and nearly became the 2nd team to hang a L on Holmes when the Raiders hit a tied-game buzzer-beater that was called off, eventually losing the OT.

The brutal schedule does not end with the Holy Cross game, the next morning Ryle travels to Lex Cath for the Republic Bank event which also features E-town, Eeast Carter, SK, Mason, Mercer, Murray and Bowling Green.

Lady Raiders should be battle tested before Christmas break. (and they open the new year with Franklin Co!)

I think Ryle has a great chance to stay in a few of these games. MC played SK last night and it was ugly (or so I heard on the radio). And after I've watched HC play, I'm not impressed with them at all. Should be exciting!

I don't think SK has played yet.

Right...MC played Beechwood last night.

Lots of clipboards in attendance last night!

Heard through friends that one of the Wilmington College coaches was there and talking to Kallmeyer for about 20 min after the game. Any news on her?

The only clipboards I recognized were from Highlands.
