"Jessica Jones", new Marvel action flick on Netflix

Featured Replies

Anyone caught this yet? Just dumped on Netflix a few days ago. In short, Jessica Jones is a Marvel comic book "anti" hero I guess would be the best way to put it. Also features "Power Man", aka Luke Cage. More sexually graphic with lots of bad language, much different than their previous Marvel tie in, Daredevil. I'm 5 episodes in, not sure it's great but it has my attention. Seems to be ramping up and getting better.

Also, Jessica is a bourbon drinker and there have a been a TON of bourbon product placements. Wild Turkey 101, Makers Mark and Heaven Hill have all been front and center very prominently, and I think I spotted another bottle as well that I couldn't identify.

Funny, she went into a liquor store and asked for "the cheapest bottle" of bourbon they had behind the counter. Next scene shows here downing the Wild Turkey 101. I'm not a bourbon drinker, but I highly doubt that's the "cheapest" bottle someone would have behind the counter.

Man, am I the only one watching this?

I watched the first episode. I was skeptical going in because I do not watch any superhero stuff. It was solid. I'll check out more episodes.

Yep, it's pretty dark...and the "foe", Purpleman, is pretty scummy and devious.

Is that one of our own?

Purpleman, PurplePride......eerily similar names. Just sayin'.

Purples are always villains, everyone knows that!

We binged the first seven episodes on Saturday, still trying to find time for the others. I think it's good, but I had read things saying it was better than Daredevil. At least to the point I'm at, I disagree. But it is good.

That's the chick from Breaking Bad, right?

Pretty much my sentiment to, so far.

Two episodes in. I like it. I like it better than Daredevil so far too.

On episode 8 or 9...I think its actually regressed and gotten worse the last couple episodes though it did take a turn for the better at the end of the last episode i watched last night.

Took me a few weeks to get thru all of the episodes. Not much of a binge watcher.

I thought it was very solid and comparable to Daredevil.

David Tennant as villain Kilgrave was outstanding. Really enjoyed his turn as the Dr. and thought he was the highlight here as the villain.

Bailed halfway through episode 2.

I've never been into the super hero/super strength type stuff. As soon as the big guy's neck didn't dent when stabbed in the bar I hit "stop."

Will watch the last episode tonight. I think it actually got worse the last few episodes and I won't give this one a passing grade. Probably won't watch a season 2 if they have one.
