I just noticed that this was PP92. The coach Cal thing was distracting.

@First Mercer is a good team. The tournament at KBA was a h

good test but we all know summer ball doesn't necessarily carry over to the season. Mercer is talented but with that being said Mercer beat Lafayette over the summer by a last second shot that was defensed well. Lafayette controlled the whole game by double digits but fell short by a tremendous shot from Trevan Faulkner from the corner. These teams play again this year in the Jock Sutherland classic. That will be their test. Lafayette is a team to be on the look out for in the 11th finishing at #10 in Dave Cantrell's season ending rankings last year. Lafayette brings back the best big man in the 11th Ross Jenkins bar far the best shooter in the 11th Harrison Lane and arguably the best "Pure Pg" Jaelin Jenkins (reminds me of Tyler Ulis the way he sees the floor and manages the game) in the 11th. They also bolstered one the the best if not the best 6th man in the 11th T.J Downey. Should be fun team to watch.

 

That summer game was a tale of two halves. Lafayette owned the first half and Mercer owned the second half. It was a summer game, but neither team played like it. Being a final four game at state, both teams wanted that one.

 

And, as I said earlier, I think Lafayette is a top 10 team. No disrespect here at all. Relative to this summer's game, the regular season game will be at Lafayette, so that's an advantage for them. Mercer didn't have Dylan James in the summer game, a kid that averaged 22 & 10 last season and that is a 3 point sniper. Advantage for Mercer. Point being it should be a great game. Looking forward to it.

CC will be good but not top five in state good. I still think Cooper wins the 9th and Sean McNeil becomes the top player in the 9th. Don't base your opinion of this Cooper team on their first meeting with Cov Cath in December. Hendrix will just be getting out of football and will need at least a month to get into a rhythm. Cant wait to see them play in March.
