Credit Unions

Featured Replies

I am thinking of leaving my bank. I wasn't planning on considering a credit union due to lack of free ATMs however someone told me some Credit unions have a reciprocal agreement with Fifth Third so their ATMs can be used free also. Anyone in Louisville use a credit union and know if this is true?

Jefferson County Federal Credit Union is surcharge free at 5/3 ATMs.

I'm at Park Community and love it. Don't have a bit of a problem with them.

Can you only go to their ATMs or do they have an agreement with 5/3 also

I've been a member of Commonwealth Credit Union for about 15 years. They are part of several different ATM networks. I never have a problem finding one.

Commonwealth CU members have over 47,000 surcharge-free ATMs (excludes Prepaid) available to them nationwide!

Our nationwide network of ATMs includes ATMs owned and operated in Kentucky by Commonwealth Credit Union, as well as ATMs affiliated nationwide with the Alliance One and Allpoint ATM networks. Click any of the icons below to locate an ATM.

The Allpoint ATM Network is the big one. I have 126 ATM's with-in a 50 mile radius of my house. Including all CVS, Walgreen's, and Targets.

Go to the grocery store and use debit card cash back option.

They charge you too, but it's not $2-3.

I'm a member of a credit union (GE) just to take advantage of better lending options. I've recently financed two cars and over the years have taken out other loans. Rates and terms are better, and they are just much easier to deal with. I keep a few thousand $'s in my account there, but really don't use that account much for day to day banking. It's kind of my emergency fund.
