November 9, 201510 yr It means that a team simply having the ability to win games means a lot. Not losing to teams that they shouldn't lose to, and not having a slip up game is a skill that some schools just don't have. Iowa has that this year. Let's say Iowa wins out and finishes undefeated. They do not play Michigan, MichSt, or Ohio State. Let's say only OSU and Clemson are undefeated. The others have 1 loss. Where are you putting Iowa?

Where are you putting Iowa? Well for them to win out they would have to play and beat Ohio St. which I don't think would happen, but if they did I would put them 3 behind Clemson and Bama.
November 9, 201510 yr I think Clemson beats anyone but Ohio State. I think they flat out roll over Bama. But I think that Ohio State and Ezekiel Elliott would be too much for Clemson. Dalvin Cook alone was almost too much for Clemson. Aside from the first 2 rushes, Cook had 83 rushing yards on 19 carries. Still not great, but Clemson is a top 20 team in rushing yards allowed per game nonetheless. I do not think one underwhelming performance against a Heisman candidate is cause for a whole lot of concern in that area

I do not think one underwhelming performance against a Heisman candidate is cause for a whole lot of concern in that area Well when they have only 1 guy to circle in on, and they still give up close to 200 yards that is somewhat a cause for concern. The next best running back they have faced is ND's backup running back. They haven't exactly faced a bunch of Thorobreds out of the backfield.
November 9, 201510 yr Well for them to win out they would have to play and beat Ohio St. which I don't think would happen, but if they did I would put them 3 behind Clemson and Bama. My fault. I meant to say before the B10 championship. Beating OSU makes it much easier to put them in the F4 despite their weak schedule. That being said I will not be surprised to see them lose in Lincoln.
November 9, 201510 yr 1) Clemson 2) Alabama 3) Ohio State 4) Notre Dame 5) Oklahoma State 6) Iowa 7) Stanford 8) Baylor 9) Florida 10) Oklahoma

That being said I will not be surprised to see them lose in Lincoln. I figured thats what you meant, but I thought I would respond to your question just in case. It wouldn't surprise me if they lost to Nebraska either. Nebraska is like the Tennessee of the B1G. A lot of close losses and seem to be just on the brink of being a good team just haven't been able to put it all together for 4 quarters, until last Saturday. But if they are undefeated before B1G Championship I would have them behind Clemson, OSU, Alabama, and whoever wins the Stanford v. ND game. So I would have them at number 5.
November 9, 201510 yr Author I'm generally glad to see a lot of people with Oklahoma in their top 10. I think they beat Baylor this weekend and I think the winner of the Bedlam games gets in the Final 4.

Dalvin Cook alone was almost too much for Clemson. So you think Clemson would flat out roll over a one loss Bama team. However you have Notre Dame rated 8th because you believe they have only had Ho Hum performances, yet they only lost to that Clemson team at Clemson by two points, and was a two point conversion away from tying it at the end. I just find that curious that you think so high of Clemson, but not to highly of the team that barely lost to Clemson. Especially when you think Clemson would roll a team you have ranked in front of Notre Dame. Which I agree Notre Dame doesn't seem to do anything great, but just does a lot of things very well, so they are not going to seem too flashy. Kind of like how OSU has not looked really great all year, but still get it done.

I think Clemson would roll Bama because they spread the field well and can beat Bamas small safeties over the top all game. Bama struggles with spread offenses and that is a fact. Their offense didn't give them much help, but Ole Miss still put up a ton of points on them 2 years in a row. Bama has those big guys up front, but get the ball out early, like Clemson does, their skills guys are way better than Bama's weak secondary. Also when it comes to ND, I think they are a good team but when they played Clemson, did you see the conditions they played in. The conditions played into ND's strength and away from Clemsons. I think if they play again at a neutral site, Clemson wins by 10+

Shoot the conditions played a big part in how Clemson for up so big so early.
November 9, 201510 yr Author I feel the opposite the conditions ended up hurting Notre Dame more imo. Shoot the conditions played a big part in how Clemson for up so big so early. How would a wet, sloppy field not hinder Clemson more than ND? Clemson relies on having better athletes and Deshaun Watson getting the ball out to his playmakers. Notre Dame is a more physical team than Clemson, which would help them out more in the sloppy conditions. I don't care if its Clemson playing an FCS team, in those conditions, the game will be a lot closer than it should be.

Notre Dame spreads people out just like Clemson and had a freshman qb playing in his first true top team on the road in pouring rain. Which Notre Dame has a good passing game too with him and weapons to throw to. So yes the conditions also had an effect on them. Which as I mentioned those conditions helped lead to Clemson jumping out so early on them.
