The first game of the 5A playoffs is over. The Colonels had a nearly perfect offensive night. Defense committed a lot of senseless penalties that kept Barren in it. Christian County plays the winner of Bowling Green & Apollo.

Giving up 350 yards defensively to Barren + about 80 yards in penalties on top of that = running clock against Bowling Green.

Hopkinsville and Christian County share the same stadium. They both earned first round home games, and being that it is an odd year, Hopkinsville has the opportunity to choose to play on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. They chose Friday, so Barren and CC chose to play a day early. I guess reason being that Christian wanted to scout the Purples.

I'd say they also chose to play on Thursday because the winner would have been at a bit of a disadvantage (one less day to prepare for the second round) had they played on Saturday.

Will it matter anyway as they will not be competitive next week as it will be a running clock early in the game, not impressed tonight as they were just going through the motions against a terrible team
