Coach Crews had a talented team last year and... This year will be challenging with all the talent they lost. Crews will never win the region at DeSales.

 

He's in a region with PRP, Doss, and Bullitt East. That could be a bigger factor.

If I'm not mistaken hasn't he been 6th region runner up 3 times, and losing on a last second shot once. I wouldn't say he "will never win the region". It won't be this year.

I've always been impressed with Crews' from an x and o standpoint! Seems to get great effort from his players. Don't know what kind of relationship he has with the parents, I do know that this part of coaching is getting more and more difficult!

Word surrounding the program is that Crews is forcing players to choose between basketball and football, and a lot of them are choosing football. Crews lost 6'6 235lb senior forward John Floyd as well.

John Floyd is the only varsity contributor that has chosen football. The other kids that aren't playing this year would have been playing JV as juniors.

Thats a matter of opinion. I believe from watching the JV games last year occasionally that a lot of the football guys would/could be varsity contributors this year, under a coach that knew how to use them.

I'm going to have to disagree. James and Joseph Sims were both under 6 foot and were post players... That's not going to work Varsity wise. Chad Welsh could maybe be a contributor but not a big one in my opinion.

Completely agree with you . It's a shame and says something about the coach if you could beat the snot out of the school basketball team with a team of kids not even on the team !
