No sir, I just hear a lot, I have nothing to do with the basketball program. Hence I asked people who might be in the know to share their insight.

So players at DeSales have left the program due to the coach. How did the coach run them off?

You realize that we can scan your timeline and see your connection to the school, right? I can assure you that you, and that connection to the school, have better info than any of us. If there is dirt you want to spill, let's have it, you'll see the activity in this thread quadruple in minutes. Otherwise, I don't think you're going to see the action in this thread you were hoping for.

Not a pot stirrer at all and no cold feet here. I do not have a son on the team, but have heard from pLayers and wanted an adult to confirm or deny why so many football players are not playing basketball this year.

Football season is not over yet.. Has there been word from football players that they will not play? Coach seems to get a lot of respect. Please explain what you heard..

Many coaches are hesitant to hold too many spots for football players unless those football players are really better than the kids already out who do not play football. Maybe it is as simple that there are enough basketball only kids that the additional kids coming from the football team do not bring enough upside to replace kids already out and practicing.

Waiting for kids, especially at DeSales who plays well into the playoffs, can hurt the progression of a team. I see nothing unusual if the news is many football players are not playing basketball this year. They may not excel in both sports.

A few football players are not playing basketball this year. They would not have been key contributors to the VARSITY basketball team. Simply just focusing on football because they think they have a better chance of doing something with it more than basketball.

Crews is probably the best pure coach in the 6th region. How can he run football players off when they are still in their season? I'm pretty sure if football/basketball players decide not to play basketball, then it probably means they know there won't be much playing time for them and they may as well concentrate on football. Desales will always be in the hunt and very tough to beat with Crews there.

Coach Crews had a talented team last year and... This year will be challenging with all the talent they lost. Crews will never win the region at DeSales.
