Before tonight, only 15 schools in Kentucky high school football history had won 600 or more games. With their 36-7 win over Thomas Nelson tonight, Bardstown became the 16th member. The Tigers have been playing football since 1912 and have 4 state titles to their credit.

 

Below (assuming it gets formatted correctly) lists the ones currently on the KHSAA team records page for most all-time wins. Very intriguing list.

 

I'm also curious as to who not named has the potential to join this club in the next couple decades?

Fascinating how Trinity has only been at it since '55 and is knocking on the door at 583 after tonight's win over Ballard and could conceivably join the club next year if they finish this season with a state title.

The ones I posted were what's listed on the KHSAA records page. I was hoping some team historians from those not listed might could provide some other info.

 

As far as CovCath goes, having played since 1968 and having no exact knowledge of anything before what's on the Riherd's/KHSAA Scoreboard page, I'm not sure. My rough count has them at 126 from 1998-present for an average of 7 wins per season. If that average holds up for the pre-98 years, then CovCath would have around 335-340. Could be more, though, if those previous 30 years were more successful from a W-L standpoint.

Most of them played multiple games against each team on their schedule. There is a book written by a local about school football WAY back in the day. Saw it years ago in the local section of Hawley Cook if I remember correctly. I'm sure you could find a copy somewhere if you dig hard enough.

I had been watching the top 3, actually the top 5 nationally due to knowing Mayfield was about to overtake Washington Mass, OH

I also saw where Danville won their 750th game last night and of course Bardstown won #600

One way or another, I can't imagine the Rocks won't hit that mark by '17 at the latest, barring some major disaster next year. That's just a law of averages thing. Trinity has won 9.56 games per year over its 61-year history, and has 9 at present.

Who's got some info about some of the other schools that are in range of the club? There's gotta be a bunch of good schools in the 450-550 range.
